Okay I am confused :confused: ..... Some Ludlow fans seem to think that they are the top dog in the hunt this year, but can you tell me how? I saw them play a very, very, young HHS team in the 9th Region first round game, and Ludlow got blown out of the gym (without HHS having Crowley). Now what didn't I see of that team, that you saw, that tells you, they will be a top dog this upcoming season? I saw a team that when it gets out of it's league, can't compete with the best teams and until I see them beat someone other than Dixie when it doesn't matter, you can count me from Missouri (the show me State)......

 

Being a fan is great and I applaud you, but......when they win a Ninth Region first round game, tell me about it then.....

 

OK, OK, Ludlow is a small school, so tell me when they win the 9th Region Touchstone All "A" Tournamemt.....

 

Enthusiasm for your team is great…but my goodness Ludlow fans. Many of us love to pull for the underdog; however, you are making it difficult. You are begging for the bullseye on your backs…be careful what you ask for. Let’s hope your coaches and players do not buy into your hype & arrogance. Overall, the region is down IMO so this is a perfect time for your best team in years, BUT get the job done first…and then talk smack.

As far as I can tell, none of the comments that I've read (or contributed) thus far about Ludlow have strayed from the thread topic. Though I don't post often, I am a frequent reader and I often see posters offer insight to the teams that they support. This is a public forum after all. I understand that very few people want to hear about "little old Ludlow", but your comments are pretty harsh. I know I'm pretty new to BGP, so forgive me for not knowing that supporting one's team is forbidden. I don't want to say anything to jeopardize my BGP status, so I guess I will leave it at that.

Making a statement that Ludlow and Conner are the favorites in the Region when Ludlow got blown out by a younger HHS team in the Region, just doesn't prove to me that they are for real...

Look at the stats from this year 2007 KHSAA program page 107, and you can easily see that it doesn't come down to 1-3 teams in the ninth each year or at least over the last eight years. Lets see, in 06 both Boone and NDA got upset in their District, by HC and St. Henry. Boone got upset again in this years District by Conner, and Holmes upset Conner on their home court in the Region. So that is six teams that I mentioned at least in the last two years. In fact as you well know, it was the first time since 1978 that NDA won a 9th Region Championship game. Seems that Holmes 02, Boone 06 & 04, NDA 07, NCC 03 & 05, and HHS 00 & 01 have all won the 9th in the last eight years. The boys during the same time period have seen Holmes 07 & 05, CovCath 06 & 04, St. Henry 03, HHS 01, and Ryle in 02, win the Ninth. So unless you think the boys 9th Region comes down to 1-3 team also, your statement is false.... Both the boys and girls 9th Region have each seen five different teams win the Region in the last eight years, not to shabby at least to my way of thinking....

With or without Brasseaux, Boone is the favorite to win the 9th in my opinion.

 

I don't see Ludlow on the radar. I watched Ludlow play several times last season and honestly they appear to me to be 20 points behind the big 9th region hitters. (Boone, Highlands, NCC, Conner, NDA, Holmes)

 

I do see this season being a much closer race than years past when NDA and Boone dominated so it should be fun to see who is hot during regional play.

 

And as far as 9th region POY predicitons there just isn't a truely dominant player so that should be wide open as well. My best guess would be Behrens but only if she and her team has a great senior season.

First off get your facts straight! NDA last won the region in 1987.

So they have won the region once in 20 something years. I am guessing that they are not 1 of the 3 teams mentioned earlier. The three are Boone, NCC, and HHS are the usual suspects for the regional title, if history is the indicater as who are the most likely to win the 9th region championship. Of the last 8 titles 6 of them were won by the 3 mentioned earlier, pretty could probability that the trend will continue.

Regardless of the year, there's a high probability that its NDA, Boone, or NCC that have the best chances of winning the region. Highlands may move into that group.

Yes I agree with those teams... NDA has been there year after year and gives Boone and NCC all they can handle in the region... However it always seems like they happen to face Boone in the region and NCC doesnt have to face them in the region... But i definatly think that over the next couple of years HHS will definatly be one of the 4 teams to beat...

Not bad and congrats to, HHS and Holmes, while the big bad Boone, NDA and NCC have won it a total of seven times, with big bad NDA only winning it only once, and NCC only wining it twice, during the same period.... WOW...... Talk about how NDA and NCC have dominated the girls game in the last eighteen years and if you want to go back even further, NDA and NCC have only won it a combined two times since 1975 the start of the sweet sixteen for the girls. So I would be a little careful about calling NDA, NCC among-est the top teams. Yes maybe in the last couple of years, but when you consider since 1978 not so much......compared to HHS and Holmes.....

 

BTW just to remind you, your Cougars have won the 9th as many times as NDA has (3) times each....

Yes well coming from a NCC stand point we have been right there competing with all of the bigger schools... Every school on this list has at least twice as many girls as NCC... NDA is there every year, they may not win it but they scare alot of teams...

 

Holmes has totally been out of the equation up untill last year it is good to see them back... HHS is top tier of athletics in NKY and they should be on the top of the list... In almost all sports HHS is judged as the best in NKY over the last 25 years
