I did read it and you where wrong as the ball never touched the batter....now that you are restating what others have said, what truly happened, (catcher hit the batter, while in the box....not the batter moved to block the catcher) you now have the FACTS straight.

I guess you didn't read my above post. I would suggest reading it before saying I had the wrong situation next time. And I'm almost 100% sure that when the catcher's arm hits the batter while he is trying to throw a guy out it is interference on the batter and the runner is called out.

Great post.....

I agree with all of your points.....it is just hard to read when so-called CAMEL supporters rip the program, especially when they are getting thier information second and third hand.

Look forward to what the CAMELS (Freshman, JV, Varsity) teams can accomplish this season.... Varsity has to step up as SCOTT and BROSSART, no matter what the people posting write, have solid teams, and will come ready to play.

Campbell County will be fine on the varsity, jv and freshman level. This could be frustration on a few that want better than how it turns out. I believe the Camels last year could have done better but in tournament play, you are one and done. This year team has a solid senior group and a solid junior group and a solid sophomore group. Frankly, I am interested in what the team will do in the spring of 08 rather than a supposed screwed up game on the jv level in 07. I saw the game, it was a questionable call but the umpire did describe his call making the rule a judgement call, end of story. This same umpire did many jv home games and no problems prior. Can this put it to bed?

Campbell will have solid players at many positions. Not a few great but just very good across the board. Those kind of line ups have a tendency to produce.

Oldteacher, you have evidently been around and sounds like you may have gone away. Are you coming back? Where you one of the ones who were let go a few years ago and now its payback? Not trying to find out mods, and do not want to know just trying to make a point.

You make some points but there is an edge to your points to some pretty good and fair folks. Camel staff, develop a thick skin like ball gloves, it will make it easy to catch the high and tight throws.

Camel senoir class this year will prevail, most of these young men were on the JV squad that made it to the finals in the JV tournament thier junior and sophmore seasons. These young men are hungry, and the have the drive and determination to be successful.

Your so right as usual striker, as the mustangs should know from the seasons of 2004 and 2005.:D Like I said last four years its Camels two titles and mustangs two titles. Two good programs and I am sure both will be successful this coming season as well.

:rolleyes:Geez, '04 and '05 is ancient history...

:p

So is 06 and 07:lol:

:lol:Touche...

All these comments ,that we won this we won that, you lost this you lost that, take a step back and look at what your team accomplished and should it have accomplished more. With all this talent the camels have had or should have, one would think they have underachieved over the last couple of years, with no district titles. I would think this would be one of your teams first goals.

I would like to correct myself on this. The past two years they have made it to the Semi Finals of the JV tourney and not the finals. But i still think though this year they will be hungry, and have the drive and determination to be succesful.

What about #10 Richie Cox????? He was Mason's only All-Region player last year???? Corey Woods is back. Rumor has it that Wylie Brace might be back out. I heard he has a big bat and would be a huge first baseman. Mason needs pitching!!!!!! How do you think the pitching stacks up? Who are starters and who are relievers????

Wylie Brace is playing this year to my knowledge, but I'm not sure if he will be playing first base or not. I guess it all depends, but to my knowledge, as of right now, a sophomore will be playing first base, as he played with the varsity team at that position all summer, but who knows... things could change. Mason County still has some good players returning this year like Cox, as you mentioned and Woods. They should be decent this year.

Brace will be at first if he plays. The sophmore you are talking about was the only other first basemen Mason Co. had other than Stafford, but he graduated. I heard someone very close to the Mason Co. program say that Coach Murphy said that this years team will be like the ones when he first started coaching at Mason Co. with Ullery. Something of the likes of 2-20... No offense to anyone who played on these teams but I heard he told his team this... Let's hear what some of you have to say about this!!

Is Brace even that good of a first baseman? I know these boys pretty well, and Brace didn't even play summer ball with them. If I were the coach, I would play the kid that has been on the team the longest AND that played summer ball with the team, whether they are a sophomore or not. This kid plays a pretty good first base.

I don't think Mason County will be 2-20. Definately not. They have Cox, Woods, King (pitcher and outfielder)... they should be decent. I wouldn't say powerhouse or anything, but I'd say they'll be alright.

Oh, I'm not saying that he shouldn't play him just because he's a sophmore. Don't think Brace is anything special at first base by no means. Either or would be fine. It should be the Sutton (sophmore) boys starting spot until Brace beats him out of it and proves he deserves it. I know them pretty well also... I played with them last year. Mason Co. summer ball is a joke anyways.

I'm not the one saying that they are going 2-20. That was a statement from the Coach to his players during a winter workout. I have said they will be a decent team earlier in this thread.

King needs to gain some velocity on his fastball and work on his curve, if he want to see many innings as a varsity pitcher. But, he will work hard and gain strength... He's still young.

Harrison will be tough to beat for the next several years. They had a very good young team this year and nearly upset Clark in the Regional Finals.

They get my vote. :thumb:

Ullery never coached a team that was 2-20. His first two years at Mason County resulted in back to back district championships. Mason had not won a district title since 1993 at that point. Get your facts straight.
