Pre-season 10th Region Baseball

Featured Replies

I don’t know if any of you guys were at the regional last year in Montgomery Co., but they have the best playing surface and dimension in the 10th region.

The field at Montgomery needs to be rolled, a lot of times you don't know where the ball will bounce. The lights are too low and if I remember correctly, they don't have bathrooms. They are no where near Harrison or Campbell with facilities.

Agree. I never understood why Montgomery put bermuda in the infield. Seems a bit different and had to be expensive. No real bathrooms hurts Montgomery as well.

I like this list except I can't comment on Scott's field because I haven't seen it..GRC plays there in the regular season though... I may be biased but I like the actual field of GRC over Harrisons.. Other than that though I agree with your rankings of Montgomery over CC.

Where is the regional tournament going to be played. I know it was scheduled for Scott, but there is some question as to whether it will be played there because their not being enough room from home plate to the backstop. Does anyone have any info on this?

Is this really an issue? That would be interesting because if Scott isnt able to host it I would think the rotation would be back to Harrison or GRC.

Are we talking about the fields or rankings, Scott wouldn't be in the top 5 if we are talking about fields, I was talking about the rankings. My mistake.

Scott's field will be able to host the regional tourney though.

What is the best dimension for a high school field? I think it should be 320' down the lines and 350' to center. Have 20+ feet back stop and 20+ feet of foul ground to the fence.
315'-320' down the lines and 340'-350' in CF. Backstop should be minimum 25' and foul territory, 20' between 3rd/1st fence and 30'-40' in OF, in foul.

8' warning track, with batters eye.

I thought you was just inferring to the other recent posts that we were talking about each teams' fields and hosting region. If your talking about rankings then I like yours although Montgomery Co will have to prove they can play with the big dogs this year.:thumb:

Campbell is hosting Semi-state as well as district i believe

I believe, I may be wrong, but the winners of the region play at home. Say Harrison wins, I believe it is decided between them and who ever they play in semi state. I may be wrong though.

Not sure if that's how it goes... Last year GRC played Dunbar at Tates Creek. So I think the sites are already pre-determined but I could be wrong.

It may be, I know 2 years ago Harrison played Beechwood at Harrison, but that might of just been pre-determined anyway.

They are predetermined, you can find them on the KHSAA website.
