Are you sure? I believe it has to be played at field with lights.I could be wrong. But it has been played at either Campbell Co,Harrison Co or Clark Co the last few years.Or did Scott add lights in the last couple years?

It was at Montgomery Co. last year.

Scott has had lights for the past 2 years so this shouldn't be too much of a problem.

As for the seating, Scott's field can hold more people but they don't set out enough bleachers due to the attendance being rather slim.

They have more bleachers and they will be used when the regional tournament rolls around:thumb:

So I'm guessing Scott must have installed lights in the last 4 or 5 years. The last time I was there they had somebody running a concession stand out of a van and seating for about 40 people.Maybe they have upgraded.:thumb:

With that it was still the best cheeseburger money can buy.

Mason will have a challenge with St. Pat for the district title. And maybe even Bracken Co. may give one of these two teams a surprise. Mason lost a lot experience and talent to graduation, but do have a few young players coming back with some varsity action under their belts.

What about #10 Richie Cox????? He was Mason's only All-Region player last year???? Corey Woods is back. Rumor has it that Wylie Brace might be back out. I heard he has a big bat and would be a huge first baseman. Mason needs pitching!!!!!! How do you think the pitching stacks up? Who are starters and who are relievers????

I agree. Brossart has lost virtually their whole entire starting lineup and I'm not sure they players that will fill those spots will be as good as last year's team. This year Scott and Campbell Co. will make it out of districts into the regional tournament. Both will make some noise in the tournament too as they have some good pitching on both sides.

Having said that though, Harrison County and GRC will be as tough as always and will have to get through them to win it all.

Although Brossart will not be as talented as last year, I still believe they will be a good team. As for Campbell getting out of the district easily I have to disagree. Campbell also doesn't have many returning starters and if I remember correctly Brossart's JV team beat Campbell's JV team at Campbell late last year. Also with the pitching that Brossart will have in Verst I would say the edge goes to Brossart. Brossart has a couple guys that played a lot of Varsity last year and a couple more who got some significant time on varsity as well. I would absolutely not count the Mustangs out. They always fight to the end no matter what.

As of right now IMO this should be the rankings of the 37th district:

1) Scott

2) Campbell County

3) Brossart

4) Silver Grove

5) Calvary Christian

Scott next year should have the best 1/2 punch with Adams (assuming he is healthy) and Adkins at the helm.

This is a depleted district along with almost the entire region for the 2007 season.

As of right now I give the nod to Scott as they have lost the least amount in the district and will return two very good pitchers along with almost their entire infield. They also return some of their top hitters with Adams, Murray, Bianchi, and Adkins coming back.

I then give the #2 spot to Campbell over the Mustangs due to they, again, return more of their players than did Brossart. Brossart may be a little more talented than Campbell but as of right now I'll give the nod to experience.

This year will really be interesting to watch as there is no REAL clear favorite other than Harrison County.

Should be another exciting year in the 37th District and the 10th Region:thumb:

I think the Camels and Stangs split their JV games, I know for sure one game the Camels JV won at Brossart last year for sure, it was over by the second inning. The Camels will put on a good show this year. The Camels had players on JV that could of have played Varsity last year. Also, the Senior class is a great bunch of boys that have the talent to go along way this year.

The Camels lost their top 2 pitchers (Hurd and Bray) and a great batter in Brandon Griffin to graduation. I hope they can find someone to fill these gaps.

Yes... Cox and Woods will play a huge roll in Mason's lineup. Don't think Brace is going to play. As far as a big bat, not sure where you got this from. Defense is very sub-par. As far as pitching... that is the big question mark for Mason Co. this year. They lost a lot to graduation in Marinaro, Doyle, and Stafford. These three held down the rotation for most of the time. Cox and Woods did give some good innings. But, they need to do a large amount of work in the off season to condition their arms to throw more innings and PITCHES than one should. As far as relievers... that is hard to come by, because many games that I saw, their starting pitches finished the game... even early in the season.

I had heard that in previous years, before last year, that Brace was a hitter. I also heard he was a pitcher. And Cox plays CF, he only pitched maybe a couple games. I agree with you about the pitching. I hope that Coach Murph finds at least 4 starters and that he will rotate them as to not wear them out. I don't think we had a rotation last year. Coach also needs to find one closer who can close the show for two innings. There is some young talent. The other thing I noticed from last year were errors. I mean we got to clean up fielding the ball and knowing what to do with it. If Coach Murph can iron these out then the team will do well. It will be interesting to see if the training and playing football has helped the athleticism and the power of Woods. My guess is that it has. Great talkin baseball with ya!:thumb:

I heard he is 100 percent, just had a sore elbow. This rotation will go Adkins, Adams and then Junior Nick Hiller (Lefty), and Brian Fite who is a senior. Fite was used last year at Varsity out of the bullpen and was very effictive. Right now I say we know more about Fite at the Varisty level than Adams. The more Talented of the two is Adams, but as of right now we know what we get out of Fite at the varsity level.

Just a correction but it wasn't his elbow that was the problem, he suffered a strained rotator cuff and also had GIRD syndrome as an after affect that further delayed his comeback last year. Adams was throwing mid to high 80s last year pre-season before he was injured. Adams has had some varsity experience his sophomore year but his action was limited.

The problem for the Eagles will be the bullpen as they have no real go to guy other than EJ Murray but you don't want to use your shortstop as a reliever everyday for obvious reasons.

This years Eagles team isn't as good as last years but should still be able to make a run in tournament as almost every team in the 10th is down this year.

I agree, If Adams throws like he is capable, Adkins and Adams are as good as any 1-2 in the 10th, and when pitching their best in say a regional tourney, they are a tough out as anyone.

I agree with you. Mason really didn't have a set rotation. Cox looked like he could be a nice closer or someone who Coach Murph could bring in as a reliever for a good solid inning or two. This is if someone works with him to get experience and some knowledge on pitching because, as you said he hasn't thrown much. Errors have always hurt Mason in MANY games. It will be interesting to see if the training has helped. Hopefully he didnt bulk up too much. Woods has a lot of talent and potential. Heard he has had a D-I look from a college or two. Looking forward to baseball season.

Whatever was wrong with Adams he still has to prove it on the mound at Varsity Level. I would personally say Adams throws in the low 80"s at best, if he has gotten stronger he might of increased his speed a little. Adams problem is he gets down on himself to much if things don't go his way on the mound or at the plate which in turn hurts the team. He must remember he is a Senior this year and has the most seniority of all the Seniors and must show some leadership and quit worrying about his stats. Remember baseball is a team sport and there is no I in team!!!!!!
