Whatever was wrong with Adams he still has to prove it on the mound at Varsity Level. I would personally say Adams throws in the low 80"s at best, if he has gotten stronger he might of increased his speed a little. Adams problem is he gets down on himself to much if things don't go his way on the mound or at the plate which in turn hurts the team. He must remember he is a Senior this year and has the most seniority of all the Seniors and must show some leadership and quit worrying about his stats. Remember baseball is a team sport and there is no I in team!!!!!!

I'm sure after being hurt for the past year he won't be worrying about his stats or anything of that sort but rather focusing on producing and staying healthy.

I don't know how hard he is throwing now after his injury but he WAS throwing mid to high 80's preseason on the gun with his pitching instructor.

He works with a man named Scott Wiggins over the offseason and preseason. Scott, I believe, was in the majors for 7 years? He was in they yankees and marlins organizations.

I am glad to hear that because for Scott to go a long way this year they need Adams to be ready to pitch and to be on top of his game. I think the key for this year will be Taylor Smith and Nick Hiller being able to help the pitching staff because after Adkins,Adams and Murray as starters they will need to turn to these guys for help. Fite I believe will be best if used out of the bulpen like last year he gives you a solid 2 to 3 innings but don't believe he can give you 4 to 5 innings like a starter should.

Yes... Cox and Woods will play a huge roll in Mason's lineup. Don't think Brace is going to play. As far as a big bat, not sure where you got this from. Defense is very sub-par. As far as pitching... that is the big question mark for Mason Co. this year. They lost a lot to graduation in Marinaro, Doyle, and Stafford. These three held down the rotation for most of the time. Cox and Woods did give some good innings. But, they need to do a large amount of work in the off season to condition their arms to throw more innings and PITCHES than one should. As far as relievers... that is hard to come by, because many games that I saw, their starting pitches finished the game... even early in the season.

Brace doesnt have a homerun swing..... But he is a base hitter.. I'm pretty sure he is coming back for his senior year. Now you want big bat. The Cox kid has probaly hit some of the longest home runs I've seen in high school baseball in a while. Pitching well thats another story. The Ace is deffinatly Woods, behind him King then Cox, Brace, Burney, and Sutton etc... mason lost 3 last year. but this year they lose Cox, Meadows, England, and Lykins which were 4 main contributers last year. I dont see the royals having that big of a down year. They work hard over Christmas and Jan. and Feb. and are always ready to play in March.

I think I would trust Fite over Murray starting. Murray throws way to hard on every pitch to throw 5+ innings. Don't get me wrong, he has great stuff, but you have to learn how to pitch, and he is more of a thrower. You are right though, not sure about Taylor Smith starting, but Nick Hiller has to be a good 3 starter. You know what your going to get from Adkins, and If Adams pitches to his abililty, it will be a dynamite 1-2, If Hiller throws good, The staff will be great. I think this team hinges on who will replace Bush, Bitter and Wagner offensivly.

I wouldn't call anyone the ace as of right now. Woods will probably become Mason's number one. He didn't get many innings last year so it is hard to so "ace." But I believe they will have seasons just like they have in years past. Average and may play some close ballgames against very good competition. Really looking forward to see these seniors step up and take a leadership role. And I know they work hard in the offseason, I was just stating that they need to do some more arm to condition for the season, because I don't really remeber doing too much as a team to strengthen my arm.

I think St. Pat will be a suprise team. Won't win it, but will be a very suprising team with losting many of their starters.

Yes, they many surprise some. But in baseball it is hard to with only two players. You must have seven others around them that can play a good supporting role in make many of the routine plays, driving in the runner from second and third. It is very hard for just two players to produce all the run support. Need a couple players to step up and make some plays other than Owens and Anderson.

The thing is, I think that they do have those players. Clarke is a good hitter and a great fielder, and they have some other players that will make the necessary plays.

I hope they show up and play big this. I wish nothing but a good season for the Saints.

I think the Camels and Stangs split their JV games, I know for sure one game the Camels JV won at Brossart last year for sure, it was over by the second inning. The Camels will put on a good show this year. The Camels had players on JV that could of have played Varsity last year. Also, the Senior class is a great bunch of boys that have the talent to go along way this year.

Who are some of the key players for the Camels and Mustangs this year?

I think Montgomery County will have a real chance this year to run the tables. Now that coach combs has settled in and MC only losing 2 outfield positions that can be easily replaced by the young talent may have a chance!

Duke01fan,

Who do think will be Montgomery's pitchers this year? If I’m not mistaken they threw mainly seniors last year.

I still think their district runs through GRC and their region through Harrison, until proven different. But, I think Coach Combs will make a difference this year.

Montgomery has some young talent with experience coming back this year. Looking forward to see how they've improved this coming year.

They lost 2 senior pitchers but over the summer, many juniors got alot of experience. :thumb: Cody curtis, who is a hard working junior, matt eversole, taylor potter will be just a few additions to the pitching staff.

How did the fresh/jv teams do in the 37th district last year? Who has the better underclassmen between Scott, CCHS and Brossart?
