  1. Watching Boone Co. basketball through the years, i agree that Nell has softened up, but only a little. She has a very good way of making her players work hard all the time, and if they aren't, she will take them out and let them know it. Moss was not working hard, so she got taken out. These girls put in a lot of time and effort. Pretty sure Boone has practices for 2 hours and 30 minutes pretty much everyday. The intensity that Nell brings to the court rubs off on their players, no doubt about that. As long she is getting the girls to work hard and performe to their abilities, she is doing a great job. And she is obviously putting up great coaching numbers like always.
  2. Not taking anything away from Janszen at all, I don't think that she had a lot to do with Moss only scoring 10 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. IMO Janszen is an amazing athlete and I don't want this to be taken the wrong way. Moss had many chances to score, just couldn't find the net. There was one possession when she had atleast 4 rebounds right under the basket but still couldn't manage to score. Just a bad game, thats all. Every player has more then one. Moss has had double doubles for more then half the games, truth is that if these were numbers for an average player, it would be a solid game for them. If you read the article in the enquire, Fookes made it clear that Moss is only human and cannot score 30 points every game with 4 or 5 people hanging on her. I agree, and I applaud Coach Fookes on saying that. As to the game, it was a very close one and St. Henry worked very hard to stay with the Rebels most of the way, great job and effort by every one of them. It was a great game and the Rebels pulled out another victory.
  3. wow! That is impressive. Those are some big ball clubs. I can't wait to watch her on ESPN some day. It'll be interesting to see how well she will do in a division 1 atmosphere.
  4. I think that a lot of people over look injuries becuase they are just so common now a days, which is sad. Any ACL injury is devastating, and so many great athletes are experiencing them more and more.
  5. Out atleast 2 weeks with a fracture. Not 100%, but pretty sure.
  6. Abby Janszen is by far one of the greatest athletes in the state of Kentucky. She has great basketball numbers, but her soccer game is 10x better. She'll get offers for both, but will probably stick with soccer. She is a great all around player. I'm pretty sure she got offensive player of the year in Northern Kentucky for soccer.
  7. Toria Fischer (Conner); Sydni Wainscott (SK); Stacie Shrout/Annie Browning (Boone); Abby Jump/Liz Meyer (Ryle); Katlyn Sams (Cooper); Allie Conner (Highlands); Theim sorry about spelling. (NCC); And I'm sure there are many more that have made a nice impact.
  8. Yeah your right. She was a big help last year and it was unfortunate to see her down this year. I'm sure the recovery is harder then it looks. That's very good that she is starting in JV games to get her back slowly, we don't want to see anything happen again!!
  9. I agree with earlier posts, about the girls who work hard and then don't get anything out of it. I've seen Boone play in a couple of matches, this year and last. Last year I saw forward Jackie Marshall really come alive on the court and this year she sits at the end of the bench, along with a lot of other boone players. Although she suffered a serious knee injury, it would have been nice to see her out on the court a little bit. Fact of the matter is, it makes the level of competition much greater in a practice setting. Girls have to earn their spot, and the player who works the hardest and does their job will play. Its unfortunate sometimes that high schools get those transfers, but its something that happens and it makes great teams better. I'm sure Nell demands more out of her starting five then she does her j.v. players, but I seriously doubt that she expects anything less then their ability. She makes every player work as hard as they can work, and thats why her team performs to the level they do.
  10. Hmm... Seems like a despute between everyone against ryle. In a district game like this, you don't want to keep the score close at all, but in a 40+ game, it would be nice to see some new names in the box score. These girls don't want to sit around when they could be getting new experience, plus, you risk injury of your top 7 by leaving them in simply to run the score up. Agreed, not very classy.
  11. I would think Shrout or Browing. Maybe even freshman, Jones. But that will be interesting to see who will be the true pg next season.
  12. Syndey Moss is really starting to shine. Let's hope she stays consistant. Can't wait to see her play in 2 years.
  13. I believe It is being held saturday, sunday, monday tuesday. Saturday/Tuesday = Boone Co. Sunday/Monday = Notre Dame could be wrong though.
  14. Northern Exposure Classic. (Boone Co. & Notre Dame) Lexington Catholic Holiday Tournament (lex. Catholic) Gateway Classic (Montgomery Co.) will be some great games!
  15. I got to see this game, wow is all I have to say. The Lady Rebels came out strong and never let up. They really forced the ball down their throats and ran a very good offense. PM gave up on defense and it just seemed like Boone did whatever they could to get 100 points, very exciting. Moss wasn't the only one who scored high. Shrout had 19, she was hot from the 3 point. Davis was also in double digits. Pretty sure Sandlin was too. I think everyone scored except for Dickerson and Marschall who both could not play due to injury.
