cshs81
The fans in Pittsburgh are an unhappy bunch. An organized walk out after the 3rd inning Saturday night is being planned. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/sports/pirates/s_513583.html Management has made sure it will not be covered on the FSN broadcast. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/07179/797796-194.stm BTW, I'm not sure if the organizers were this smart but it is Bob Walk bobblehead night. stark
Pittsburgh is a great place to watch a game...Been there, ate at Outback in the stadium...It's tough to see teams like Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, traditional homes for baseball, struggle in the today's "moneyball" atmosphere. NineOh
As Mo Egger on 1530 pointed out. They'll already have the fans' money, so what's the big deal?
malachicrunch
15th straight losing season? Wow. I thought the Reds were bad:banana:

HOMELESS CAMEL
That's why I wasn't buying into the fast Pirate start this year when they were 9-6 at one point or whatever it was. When it's all said and done, the same teams will come to the top of each division. Bob Walk, If I remember correctly he started a game against in the Reds in the 1990 NLCS. UKPat02
I don't know why you would schedule it for this game. They're playing the Nats...should be GREAT baseball!
STRIKE3
Maybe the Pirates and Reds, could combine talent.....Be the RedPirates, or the fans, could walk over to GABP....
UKPat02
Maybe the Pirates and Reds, could combine talent.....Be the RedPirates, or the fans, could walk over to GABP.... Would they have enough talent between them to field a decent team, though?
STRIKE3
I believe so....plus, the word "decent", can be subjective right now, to the Reds and Pirates fans. I'm a baseball fan, through and through....grew up watching the Reds, always enjoyed following them. The last few years, it's been tough and this year, they are simply a AA franchise, at the big league level. The Pirates, have been steadily declining over the last decade and not sure, what is keeping the franchise in P'Burg.
Pat Dad
Maybe the Pirates need Big Ben to come and play. Just remind him to wear his helmet.:sssh:
cshs81
Bob Walk, If I remember correctly he started a game against in the Reds in the 1990 NLCS. I believe it was Game 1 in Cincy and he got the W.
Getslow
Pirates baseball... what a mess. Sure can't say as though I blame them... but I can't help echo what others have said: if you've already paid to get in the park, what's the point of walking out in the third, except to show an empty stadium on television (which management has already made clear will not happen). One thing's for sure... it'll be awful quiet... which isn't really all that different from a normal game at PNC though...
