What Freaks You Out?

Featured Replies

I don't get freaked out by much but what scares me is snakes, spiders, heights (just a little) and the thought of being stabbed!

The sound of tires squealling from someone trying to stop their vehicle from behind freaks me out.

...and the thought of being stabbed!
What about "tazed"?

Why not? Since there are no poisonous snakes in KY, I'm surprised there are so many people afraid of them.

Maybe there are.

Timber Rattlers aren't poisonous either. :D

Happened upon this thread & really enjoyed it. I was hoping some others would chime in, but I'll go with some of the things that freak me out.

1) Snakes- Easily #1. Have recurring nightmares about them.

2) Heights- It's strange, this one. I can ride any roller coaster of any height, but I can't go on the Eiffel Tower @ Kings Island. Never been on an airplane either, and partially for this reason.

3) Spiders- Similar to snakes, but not nearly as bad.

The most freaked out I've ever been was my Junior year in high school. It was Friday night (actually Saturday morning) & I was scheduled to take the ACT in Maysville at 8:00 am (a 25 minute drive or so). At around midnight, I realized I'd left my ACT ticket in my locker at school. Called one of my best friends whose mother is a teacher & obtained a key. Went to the high school (the old Bracken County High School) & made my way to my locker. For those who may not know that old school, my locker was in what was called "The Dungeon." It was down stairs and then down stairs and then down stairs. There was no exterior light in the dungeon & the inside lights in the whole school were the type that required a key to turn on. So I had to go all the way down three flights of stairs & find my locker in absolute pitch darkness. Even though there were only about 30 lockers down there, it was difficult & believe me when I tell you I heard every single noise in that place. Kept thinking I was hearing footsteps. Never ran so fast in absolute darkness in my entire life. I'm getting freaked out just thinking about it.

Department store elves who push you down the slide.....:scared:

 I can picture that in my head perfectly.

Wow...this is an enlightening thread! I'm thinking...but I don't really get freaked out about anything. Now, I sure can get ticked off...but that's not the topic.

What freaks me out? Dry counties. Indiana. The person/thing creeping around the parking lot of the store I just went to.

I love some of these blasts from the past.

I don't like heights. At. All. I love thrill rides, but put me on the edge of a precipice (and my definition of precipice extends to the roof of a 2-story house) and my legs turn to jello and my bowels undergo a phase transition.
