I feel that way also, but as UKMF said, who knows? I guess that it would depend on how the season plays out.

June 27, 200719 yr On the Fiesta Bowl played back in 1990. Bama was 7-5 that year. Had no business in the game. They lost 3 offense starters in the first three games. One was a All-American preseason. They were the third choice to play against the Cards. After the 1st quarter the score was 7-7. Now back to the brothers.

UofL fans realize that it is just in the interest of masking the importance of the game, or more accurately the impact of the loss. UofL fans believe that the importance of being on national TV is not worth moving the game. UK fans think that playing on national TV isn't worth playing on weekdays. UK fans don't think UofL has emerged on the national scene because they haven't won a national championship. UofL fans think winning a BCS bowl game disputes that. UK fans think our BCS game doesn't count. If the powers at be, think moving the game helps them for the entire season, I see nothing wrong with that. UL is on the national scene, I just dont think they are a traditional power as of yet...a few more years of BCS games and I will say they have. Is BSU and Utah a national power because they have won BCS games? UL fans can't see why some people may be critical of a BCS win over Wake Forest.

People forget that a few teams refused to do so because of the Martin Luther King flap. I guess some teams didn't see the problem with it.

The difference is that Utah and Boise State appear to be one hit wonders, or at the very least heavily rebuilding following their win. Utah lost their coach and all their top shelf talent, for example. Boise State also lost their QB from that season and a number of other seniors. UofL returns most of their starters from that team.

But as of now they are in the same boat, correct? UL gets a BCS win again and they move ahead.

To open the season, Louisville will very likely be a top 10 team in the majority of measurements, consensus top 15. Heisman-caliber QB, talented backfield and receivers, some very good players on what might be a better defense as a unit than last season. As of right now, Louisville looks to have reloaded, not be rebuilding.
June 27, 200719 yr Its a shame that the game will not be on National TV. However, I think it hurts UK more than UL. UK needs all the spot light it can get, if UK was to beat UL, then I'm sure Mitch would want it on National TV. For UL, just another game really. I'm sure we will be able to watch the game on a local channel so it really does not matter to me. UK needs to make a good showing in this game and actually win one for a change..... I suspect that UL will win by 10 points. Just wondering when this "mitch" erra will officially be over and both schools can get back to doing what we all want. Competing and acheiveing great things.....
