June 20, 200719 yr I'm sure if UK knew so many non-UK fans would be so angry and hurt by their decision, they would have reconsidered. UL fans have every right to be upset. It's one less game on national TV, and that's bad for their program...
June 20, 200719 yr I'm sure if UK knew so many non-UK fans would be so angry and hurt by their decision, they would have reconsidered. I think the fact that they are so incredulous about this being an issue is what I can't get past. And that's mostly because UK fans have always taken a more laid-back approach to football than hoops. But you would think that with a team that rarely has its games shown live even in its home market would be knocking people over trying to retain a sweetheart deal like the Labor Day Sunday slot.
June 20, 200719 yr I think the fact that they are so incredulous about this being an issue is what I can't get past. I believe more than a fair majority of UK fans believe this is not the best of decisions. I also believe UK and their administration are kicking themselves in the rear about now. At the time they decided to move the game, in thought, it might have been a decent idea. The UK program was a chemical fire, UL's was going the opposite direction. I really do not think people had faith in Woodson, Brooks, et al. to have the kind of success they had last season, relatively speaking. As westsider said, there really is no good way to spin the story. If I were them, I would just come out and say "Look, we screwed up. Our plan to success was not as calculated." Accept it. And do all they can to move it back two years from now.
June 20, 200719 yr I hate this decision because I always look forward to this game being on the Sunday before Labor day but answer me this. How does getting their butts kicked by 3 TD's on national TV help UK's program?
June 20, 200719 yr I hate this decision because I always look forward to this game being on the Sunday before Labor day but answer me this. How does getting their butts kicked by 3 TD's on national TV help UK's program? That hasn't been the case when UK plays at home, has it???
June 20, 200719 yr UL fans have every right to be upset. It's one less game on national TV, and that's bad for their program... Then shouldn't they be mad at their own school for agreeing to the deal?

I'll see every home game live regardless because I'll be there.
June 20, 200719 yr Sorry, but I don't like watching games six hours after they've been played … Then the answer is simple for you...................don't watch if that is the case. :thumb:
June 20, 200719 yr Then shouldn't they be mad at their own school for agreeing to the deal? You know better than to suggest UL is going to give up the UK game. UK forced their hand and UL had to take the game when they could get it. You do realize that if UK wins and no one sees it, it does little to help the UK program right???
June 20, 200719 yr I would think that beating a nationally-ranked team that won a BCS bowl game last season (or even a competitive showing) would impress recruits, too. :thumb: I agree,I just think that a win over a SEC opponet might serve better. UT, UF, LSU, UGA all imo will be ranked as well as U.L. an dthey are a conference game. This might get the attention of some potential recruit that may considering one of the SEC schools along with U.K.. A win over U.L. would be Huge, no doubt about it. :thumb:
June 20, 200719 yr Tennessee at Florida and ND at Michigan are two of the games that afternoon without TV coverage currently decided. Who in their right minds would want to watch UK/UofL over either of those matchups?
June 20, 200719 yr Then shouldn't they be mad at their own school for agreeing to the deal? It was either agree to the deal or watch the game stopped all together (which is what I truly believe that Barnhart and Brooks wanted). How stupid does it sound to say we need the time to get ready? The entire off season isn't enough time? Three more weeks with two games against weak compitition? And this year Louisville will have a new coach, it's the perfect time to catch them in game 1, and Brooks and Barnhart took themselves out of that.
June 20, 200719 yr Who in their right minds would want to watch UK/UofL over either of those matchups? Hence the anger in moving the game from a solo slot on ESPN with no other games on TV...
June 20, 200719 yr ^I don't see why this is a big deal. If UK doesn't want the game early and is willing to trade the TV coverage, why are the UofL fans so outraged?
