June 23, 200719 yr If the game were as big of a deal as some are making it out to be, it wouldn't matter what week they played it, someone (ESPN, CBS, etc) would pick it up. Until UK gets the program back on it's feet it will not be, and they won't be able to help the program by playing a top 10 team in week 1. Tell UL to schedule UT or Florida in week 1 and see how that goes over.

Tennessee might be up for it after all they are opening up with Cal, maybe UL could take that spot in the future. Florida on the other hand is challenging themselves with the Hilltoppers during week 1.
June 24, 200719 yr ^ U of L can not be questioned about who they schedule...they try, try, and try to get the top dogs to dom home and homes.....and won't settle for less....while I would like for them to schedule some of them even without the h and h.....I stand by America's #1 AD.

It will likely be one of the better games that day, and is better than at least one or two they are showing on ESPN or ESPN2. Why would they pass on this game? If Louisville was such a national draw you would think they would want so showcase them...dont you think?

U of L will be on National TV plenty of times this coming season--many in contests with less-than-stimulating opponents. The reason no one has picked this game up is because there are quite a few tantalizing games going on around the country on Sept 15. and the U of L/UK contest has been about as lopsided as they come recently. Other games set for Sept 15: Notre Dame vs Michigan Tennessee vs Florida Ohio State vs Washington USC vs Nebraska Nice work, Mitch. Once again, in your own hapless way, you've shown yourself to be totally inferior to TJ.

Yes...ESPN is to blame somewhat...but they have contractual agreements in that they have to show Big 11 and Big 12 games if they are being played.
