June 18, 200719 yr Not really another place to put them unless I put them in my basement, I really don't want to do that. Just a suggestion...get rid of the attraction and they won't come back. I am guessing that it was the lesser of the two evils, but your call.
June 18, 200719 yr I’m trying to find a number I can call for assistance in ridding my yard of raccoons. I don’t really want to pay for a service because there are too many of them. The destructive little creatures are wreaking havoc, chewing through our garbage cans and creating a real mess. I want to do this humanely for my wife’s sake, so if anyone can help point me in the right direction my wife and I would greatly appreciate it. Otherwise, I’ll just have to shoot the little vermin. I can't believe you've actually waited until calling upon this option …

June 18, 200719 yr I'm talking about a very good pellet gun. Deer are a problem, but they don't really do much damage. Unless you have a garden.

June 18, 200719 yr If you must go the humane route, there are a few different brands of very good "humane" traps that are sold through various outdoor catalogs like Cabelas, Gander Mountain, Bass Pro, etc... and available at a good sporting goods/outdoor store or maybe a farm supply store. It would take some time to complete the task unless you want to invest in quite few traps. This style of trap will catch the animal unharmed so it can be release at another site. Just be careful when you let the little critters out of the cage/trap :eek: - make sure the door is pointed away from you. They are not very happy campers when they come out . Good Luck and may you be "Racoon" free in no time. And...........if you don't want to go to all of this "humane" treatment of the rodents - shoot em' or poison them.............anti freeze (the old "toxic" kind works wonders on cats, I don't know about racoons :sssh:) .
June 19, 200719 yr If your wife won't let you shoot them, get a good coon dog. When they run up the tree with the dog barking at the base of the tree. Cut the tree down and sell firewood!!!!!!!! Cut the coon tails off and sell them to one of your friends who has a Harley and let them tie them to their handle bars!!!!!!:thumb: :thumb: Problem solved and you make money!!!!!
