June 16, 200719 yr I feel no obligation to like the Eagles ... I'll second that. I do like some of their stuff but there isn't a chance I would ever sit down and listen to one of their CD's the whole way through.
June 16, 200719 yr I personally feel that most of the popular bands such as The Eagles,Led Zepp get pushed so much into the mainstream by Rock Radio/Classic Rock Radio that I get sick of hearing there music.I bet you could tune in right this minute to WKQQ and they will be playing Led Zepp,The Eagles,ZZ Top,Stevie Ray or Pink Floyd.I will only listen to these bands if Im in control.:creepy:

June 16, 200719 yr Austydak stole my thunder; I was going with Alabama too. Even if you don't like Country as a genre, I can't imagine someone not liking Alabama's repertoire. I would also go with The Bellamy Brothers and Billy Joel. How could you not like them? Yes, I know, when Jim gets back I'll find out how you could not like these folks.

It's not cool to like bands other people have heard of.:sssh: I guess that's why I'm a big fan of the Rolling Stones, Beatles, The Who, etc. … The Eagles ripped off The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Poco, Flying Burrito Brothers, Joni Mitchell and at least a few more. The best I'll do is credit them for good influences, but let's not act like they were breaking any new ground.
