June 5, 200719 yr An article in Sports Illustrated last year was estimating about 20 years from now what the home run list would look like and Adam Dunn was in the top 5 with nearly 700 homers. As I and most people are aware of this, the greater concern for the Reds right now is pitching. Hopper and Griffey are hitting well while Hamilton is on his way back from killing the ball in Louisville. The Reds are almost better off putting a pitching machine on the mound than almost anyone in the pen.
June 5, 200719 yr I don't think it will take much to get him away from Houston. Why is he still there then? Teams do not give up closers who are 30 years old and one year removed from a relatively bad year for him and he still had 32 saves. You had better make a strong offer.

June 5, 200719 yr Do you think that Bray can be the closer, an article in ESPN the magazine thought so.
June 5, 200719 yr Do you think that Bray can be the closer, an article in ESPN the magazine thought so. Not this year.
June 5, 200719 yr How is that crazy. I would love to know his ERA in closing situations the last 2 years. In 2006 , it was 3.60. Take out one bad game and it drops to 2.81. Can you live with that?
June 5, 200719 yr Dunn is way to strong of an offer. Would you trade Hamilton for him? Too early to answer that one. I've got Hobbs locked up for a few years before I have to start paying him big money. Dunn is going to cost me REAL money REALLY quick. That HAS to be taken into account. Its all about value.
June 5, 200719 yr Lidge hasn't proved he can still close out games cshs until otherwise he isn't even of that value IMO. A change in scenery might help, taking that Pujols image out of his head.
June 5, 200719 yr Lidge is not the answer. That would go down as an all-time bad deal. Give more details , please.

You had better make a strong offer. He's been on the block for a while, but the owner won't pull the trigger on moving him. He hasn't been the same in the 9th since Fat Albert launched one to the moon...
June 5, 200719 yr In 2006 , it was 3.60. Take out one bad game and it drops to 2.81. Can you live with that? Then how many did he pitch in. They don't have him closing for a reason. I do want to puersue him but Dunn for him is not an equal trade.
June 5, 200719 yr Give more details , please. He's not young, he's been inconsistent, his career ERA is too high, Pujols ruined him in the clutch, Dunn is young, and the Reds don't exactly have offense. Weather and Dunn is way better than a Weathers/Lidge set-up closer situation.
June 5, 200719 yr Dunn and Milton and a prospect for Lidge and Rodriguez, might not work, but try it and see.
June 5, 200719 yr I saw the title of this thread and freaked out for a second. lol There are mods on this board for a reason, so it's not my place to dole out advice. BUT for my medical future, could you please put RUMOR in the title thread, thank you. ANYWAY with Griffey likely gone after next year, the Reds will have to keep a power hitter in the lineup. So unless they get one in return from a team, I can't see them trading Dunn. Will be interesting to see how things play out as the trading deadline gets closer.
