May 29, 200719 yr This woman is tired and probably has never taken a breath of fresh air since her son's death. I don't like what she did, she took heavy criticism from BOTH sides, she is stepping back, my position would be that we need to accept that and get up off her back about it. If she truly has departed the fray, to criticize her now is a bit like what Christopher Hitchens did after Falwell died. Sorry, but I've been critical of her from the outset. I'm guessing she'll not be out of the fray long,, another book, movie, T.V. deals etc...

And I would have not been as critical if that is what she said her reasoning was for going home. What you stated I can understand and fully agree with.

Got both sides to agree on something. Sadly it was criticizing her.
May 31, 200719 yr I feel bad for her. Quite a tragic story. She came out as anti-war after her son was killed in action. I think she thought she was making a diference, but realized that she was being used by political groups. A couple of years later, her marriage is over, all her money is gone, and she goes back home defeated.
