Rockmom, you yourself has said we need to clean up the mess that we made. Do you feel that protesting the war is going to help accomplish that? Do you believe that the troops feel like the protesters are on their side? Do you think that the insurgents get the feeling that we are a weak opponent or a strong one when they see the discord in this country over the war?

Alright, let me put it this way:

1) I'm done protesting "the war". I'm not done protesting the administration that put us there.

2) I have no idea what the toops feel like. Probably like a lot of employees at jobs where there's little thanks and a lot of crap.

3) I've made my feelings about what I feel the insurgents will or won't do, and made them clear.

4) I'm done with this subject.

Bad week. :creepy:

Bad week. :creepy:
It's the crappy weather, too darn hot! :fire:
You have every right to voice your opinion; I have no problem with that. I'm just telling you what happens when enough people protest the war. It only costs more American lives. Like I said, RK, I luv ya like a sister, but we are totally at odds on this one.

Well since you love me like a sister then perhaps the only thing left for me to do is to beat you with a stick kinda like I did my brother once:sssh: :D

First off - Thanks Pepper for the compliment. I will try to answer your question. How can you say that you support the troops but not the war? I think that was your question. There are all these men and women over there fighting a war, that IMO, was based on a lie. They are performing a job that they signed up for but I still don't think it's fair to ask them to just stand there and be a target, when IMO, nothing is very going to be accomplished. Here's my answer. I can't support a war that, IMO, shouldn't have every happened , so I support the young men and women that are trying to do what their country is asking them to do but not the war. As I said in a previous post, I cannot support a war that is sending hundreds and thousands of kids either home in a box or home without limbs.

Now back to RTS - you have cause me such problems, that the next time I am up there you are going to buy me the biggest steak dinner I can find.  o-kay and I just might have a strong fondest for you also:thumb:

(2) But at least we get to come home at night to our families with all our limbs attached.

(3) after one more response - so am I:thumb:

Why am I seeing the closing moments of every Boston Legal episode here?

Very nice but an important question, who is Denny Crane?

Hey RK, how come you took offense with me and not RTS?

I have no problem with war protestors. I myself disagreed with the invasion. What I said was, from a soldier's point of view, you can't be against the war effort and for the troops. It sounds nice, but it lowers morale and gets soldiers killed. Saying it is a cop out, a move to be politically correct. Why not just say, "I'm against the war"?

I have no problem at all with anyone disagreeing with me over any subject but I don't think that my opinion is a cop out. I am against the war but I am not against the men and women fighting it. How on earth could anyone say that just because I am against the war then that must mean that I am against the kids fighting it? These are our babies being killed and for what a lie?

Hey HHS, there isn't anyone alive that could ever say that I can't take the heat - if I open my mouth a give my opinion then I shouldn't be too bothered when someone doesn't agree with me. So I truly didn't mean my post to sound harsh...I was just voicing an opinion...but if you took it otherwise, then I am truly sorry.

That or a nice drink or two. :thumb:
So, you're telling me that if we all were in agreement here in the US-no one disagreed whatsoever with us being in Iraq-that the bombings would decrease?

Bombings at US embassy's, or cheap shots at cities? Yes, I'm thinking they would.

Don't worry about it. I really wasn't trying to upset anyone. Well maybe Rockmom, but that's a standard practice for me. :D

RK, I'd go with the nice drink or two if I were you. Make's it easier to tolerate RTS:jump:. Just kidding buddy.

Maybe we should all chip in and get Cindy a BGP account. Now that she's retired, she would be great fun in our forums...

I think I'll go for the drinks also - let's just hope he works some overtime the weekend I am coming up - cause I only like the best bourbon:D
