ColonelNation32 Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Do you think that Jerry Narron is going to get fired soon.In last place and If so who do you want as the new coach
letabrotherspeak Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Does he deserve it? Probably not, he didn't assemble the team. However, if things don't change the fans will want someone's head on a platter.
ColonelNation32 Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 I think he deserves it. I think that he has the talent. I just dont think that he knows how to use it
HOMELESS CAMEL Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 They might not be a world series contender, but they are better than their record shows. It may not be all of Narron's fault, but he is the one in charge, he needs to go.
NEERFAN Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 I'm sure he'll be fired but it won't matter, the team is poorly constructed and needs a total makeover. I'm not getting my hopes up.
ColonelNation32 Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 Trade Dunn and Milton and get pitching.
AverageJoesGym Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 I think he deserves it. I think that he has the talent. I just dont think that he knows how to use it Where's the talent, this is a last place team in a horrible division which makes it one of the worst 5-6 teams in baseball. He's simply managing a horrible team to its place in the grand scheme of things.
AverageJoesGym Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Trade Dunn and Milton and get pitching. Good luck you'll either get A) a couple of 2nd tier prospects or B) A middle reliever and a player to be named later.
ColonelCrazy Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Narron is not the only problem, but he's not even close to being the answer.
gametime Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 So if you fire him now, what's the plan? Wasn't that the real problem with Boone, Miley and now maybe Narron? Who's next? If they go this route, it better be big...
AverageJoesGym Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 There's nothing a manager can do for this team. It has a putrid offense and an even worse bullpen paired with an average rotation. The Reds are horrible on defense and only about 5-6 players on the entire team have any "upside" most of them are as good (and I use the term loosely) as they'll ever be. This team needs to be broken down as soon as possible and take their lumps with the kids that might make them better down the road. Is Narron the one to lead them through that? Probably not but I don't know that the Reds would spend the money on a manager that could effect that kind of turnaround in a short time.
The Scribe Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Bucky Ball would be the short term solution. If they want to go big, some names could include Dusty Baker, Joe Girardi, or Buck Showalter. Personally, I think Girardi would be a good fit in Cincinnati.

Personally, I think Girardi would be a good fit in Cincinnati. He might do okay because it will be at least a 5 year rebuilding job. Anyone that thinks making a trade and tweaking the roster will get the Reds in the playoffs anytime soon is fooling themselves. This franchise needs MAJOR rebuilding, it is currently one of the 6 worst teams in MLB.
Sportz Addict Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Good luck you'll either get A) a couple of 2nd tier prospects or B) A middle reliever and a player to be named later. Pretty much. Dunn will get you an MLBer, Milton won't, or it will be a bad one.
newarkcatholicfan Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 It does not matter who the manager is this team is not good and that is the cold hard truth.
