Top RB's this year in '07

Featured Replies

Cory Farris from Boone Co. Led last years 9th region in rushing yards and was just a Junior. Now it's his Senior year and I think he might break a record or two, watch and see. Don't forget he rushed for 328 yards in his first playoff game as a Sophomore.

Corey Farris of Boone, and You will hear of Marty Molony from Dixie by the end of this year as well.

What was Cory's final rushing yards for 2006? Boone's passing vs. running this year will impact Cory's total rushing yards for 2007.

Looking for Cory to get some recognition in Kentucky this Fall for Mr Kentucky Football! Congrats on being selected to Kentucky's Tremendous 26...

Keep your eyes and ears open for Michael Campbell of Corbin this year. Think you will hear the rumble! 6' 220lbs with speed and brute strenght.

I think he has the tools, and is playing in the right system. Lets just see if Josh has the will to work as hard as Justin did. I don't care what anybody says, Justin could take over a ballgame anytime he wanted. Just ask Bell County!!!!!
Boom,Agreed he has the tools & is in the right system but i've watched this kid since his peewee days and IMO, he is a special talent. This should be his breakout year.I know there is a lot of talent in the RB corp, but lets just hope for the best for this young man.

For Danville, I am expecting big things from junior Antwan Simon...big brute with great speed(places consistently in the top 3 in the 100 yard dash). Cousin I believe to former all-state rb and former Danville star Charles Penix. Runs just like him if you ask me. Also hear that they have another slew of scatbacks that have been sitting behind all of those good ones from last year(Strode, Morris, Guest) that graduated.

Allen Williams (Marshall Co.) good versatility, elusiveness, and speed. Despite his lack of size shows great toughness and strength.

What record will he break? Boone's rushing records wont' be easily touched since all they do is run and they've had a bunch of fine RB's.

Bankamper from Beechwood .Was one of the top backs last year as a sophmore .If he does not break an ankle in the last regular season game B'Wood just may have won another championship. He was surely missed in the game with New Cath. Not to take anything away from them by no means .

I'm pretty sure he was a junior last year, but yes he is a very good back.

Daniel Rose of Carroll County - He is a leg churning machine. Gets yardage that he should not on pure determination. He runs behind a much smaller line than most and still averages 5-6 yds per carry. Would make a great fullback for someone at the next level. Probably has two of the strongest legs in the state. I have seen him box squat over 700 lbs. Reps 405 for 10 parallel reps with little strain!

Watch the rushing yards climb on Cory Farris this year. Going into his senior year he is tied with a former Rebel's career rushing record. (Shawn Alexander) All Coach Thompson has to do is find a way for Cory to gain more than 3,000 yards during Cory's senior year! Cory is an outstanding athlete that will have a difficult decision to make at the end of his senior year, Baseball or Football.:ylsuper:

From the Mountains...

Dustin May - Belfry

T.R. Chistopher - Bell Co.

Spencer Greer - Bell Co.

T.J. Green - Cawood

Josh Sanders - Corbin

Nathaniel Gilliam - Cumberland

Shawn Grim - Johnson Central

Joe Roskopf - Lynn Camp

Daniel Harmon - Pikeville

Seth Setzer - Prestonsburg

Adam Dials - Shledon Clark

Ryan Kelly - Sheldon Clark

You might as well add in Hunter Lutrell, he ran in the high 4.5's for his forty time, and ran a 4.2 shuttle. So he'll be interesting to watch in the mountains this year.

Roskopf is looking better in the spring than he did last spring coming off the knee injury and he ended up leadint the state in rushing last year. He'll be a handful again.

And Sidney Wagner will return healthy for the Cats and could be a BIG suprise for many this year.
