May 24, 200719 yr Converse had a shoe that Sears sold that was called "the Winner" that was a clone of the chucks. I had these because we always ordered from the Sears catalog and had to pick up our stuff from the local store. I think they also had one called "the Coach" that was also a clone.

Daktari Sissy bars 4-square Seeing NFL highlights on the Saturday AFTER the previous week's games hosted by Tom Brookshier and Pat Summeral. May 24, 200719 yr This thread has really been an enjoyable read, and I wish I could add more things to the list. But I grew up in the 80s for the most part, and I have taken great strides to forget everything that wasn't cool during that time. Quite possibly the dumbest decade in American history if you ask me. We had biker shorts, men with longer hair than women (and they used more hairspray), heavy metal bands singing power ballads, Richard Simmons, WKRP in Cincinnati, Eddie Murphy doing standup in skin-tight leather, and Howard the Duck. Did I forget to mention the haircuts?
May 24, 200719 yr I set tobacco once. ONLY ONCE!!!!!!!!!!!!! My dad raised tobacco in Robertson County near Johnson Creek, after us kids were done working that day we would go wadin' or splashing around in that creek it was the clearest water for wadin' I ever saw. During the 90 degree weather we had back then it was great to go and get in the creek for a little while to cool off.

WKRP is my least favorite sitcom of all-time. The only thing memorable about it to me was gauking at Loni Anderson's, uh, hair. And I'll take 70s fashion over 80s anyday of the week, probably early 90s fashion, too.

As for fashion, 90's fashion = a rumpled t-shirt with flannel over it....really stylish...70's fashion??? Collars that look like they are ready to take flight...:lol:
