May 23, 200719 yr Thank you, that brings back some good old memories! Oh my gosh! That song has been buried back in the darkest recesses of my little mind for decades! I remember it well now! It's funny, I can hear the song in my mind; but don't associate it with that show for some reason.
May 24, 200719 yr For those of you who grew up in the Lexington viewing area, do you remember the after school show on WTVQ (channel 62 and now 36)? It starred a clown named "Happy" and a puppet named "Froggy". They showed cartoons, the Three Stooges and (I think) old Flash Gordon serials. The show's director was a guy named Rick and whenever they went from the live portion to one of the cartoons or shorts they would say, "Roll em Ranger Rick". I also remember during the Christmas season when the Lexington stations would have a Santa Claus show with a live Santa reading letters to Santa and they would show cartoons. I do remember this show with "Happy" and "Froggy" they played mostley Tom and Jerry when I watched it on 62.
May 24, 200719 yr I didn't watch much TV growing up. As soon as we were able to we were in the Tobacco fields. I remeber the first job was following the setter, . I set tobacco once. ONLY ONCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May 24, 200719 yr All Star Converse sneakers, ] I remember having the cheaper version of the All-Stars and then excitedly being allowed to "upgrade" to the true Chucks. What was the name of the cheaper version? I don't recall.
May 24, 200719 yr Speaking of baseball. We would sneak little AM radios to school to listen to the world series. In 1975 and 1976, we didn't have to sneak a radio to school. We actually watched the game DURING school.
