May 9, 200719 yr Personally I'll take homemade appetizers over restaurant anyday. One that seems to be a local favorite is "Hanky Panky's". Also, I have never tasted an artichoke/spinach dip in a restaurant better than anyone's homemade. Not only that, but it seems that restaurants all serve the same stuff just their own version. If you have homemade, it is amazing the variety and the new and different foods you can experience.

First time I had ever been there. It's hard to believe it is owned by the same people who own O'Charley's.

If you have homemade, it is amazing the variety and the new and different foods you can experience. I'll have to agree, outside of potato skins. Wings are more of a meal to me. You can't beat Hanky Panky with the hot sausage, along with some beer cheese, a cheese ball with a lot of Budding Beef, my buddy's mom's meatballs, salami and cream cheese rolls, ham-cream cheese-pickle rolls, and jalapeno and cream cheese rolls. :ylsuper: As for the best restaurant appetizer, Warm Ups (used to be on Dixie Hwy) had the best potato skins I've ever eaten. They would put a scoop of mashed potatoes in the skin, then top with cheese and bacon. Man, I miss those. I've had similar at a couple other places, but they weren't quite as good. The Courthouse in Independence had them years ago, and they were probably 2nd best. Customers complained about them, so they took out the scoop of mashed potatoes. :irked: Now they've changed skins all together, and they're horrible. BTW, why don't you share those Spinach Artichoke Dip recipes? My wife loves that stuff.
