For those of you with the "it will give UK more time to prepare/more momentum" arguement, what do you think Louisville will be doing the first two weeks of the season? Getting worse?? Moving the game back does NOTHING to help UK...

I don't know how many times I can say it...yes, I know UofL will be improving as well. Plain and simple, UK will be a better team in the 3rd week than in the 1st. The better you are, the better your chance of knocking off a top team. Period.

I think this thread is much ado about nothing at this point.

The tape delay garbage has been spread through the talking heads in Louisville via some radio stations.

This game will be live somewhere.

In my opinion, on ESPN or ESPN2.

Lest we forget, this year it is an SEC game (network wise) so the determination of what game they will choose to broadcast will not be made for quite a while. It can run as close to 5 days before the date to be played but usually over a week in advance.

In addition, we usually don't hear of the game time and station until at least June.

If you look at the overall schedule, the UK/UL game will be no worse than the 3rd best game that day, in the SEC. So there is a really good chance of live TV and a good chance ESPN will pick it up.

Other SEC games that day: Tennessee at Florida, and Arkansas v. Alabama (will not be the SEC debut for Saban, they play Vandy the week before).

Also as I stated earlier CBS has first option at SEC games and if they don't take it the other networks have a shot at it. CBS has up to an 8 day window to determine what games they want.

I understand what you are saying, but like you said we'll agree to disagree. With UK coming off of the Bowl win with plenty of momentum right now and losing very few impact players the time is ripe for them. Especially with UofL losing plenty on the defensive side not to mention the learning curve under a new coach.

This is amazing. You obviously just scroll right past my posts because I'm not denying anything you have said about UofL improving (and I hope they do, I have a good friend/ex-teammate on the team). If you happen to actually look at this one post of mine...I'm looking at it strictly from a UK standpoint in saying that UK needs as much practice as it can get before facing the Cards.

UK has the same chance to beat Louisville in week 3 as they do in week 1, week 10 or any other week on the schedule. The chance they have is pretty slim through the whole season. Why take this game off national television ? I don't see any way of UK benefitting from this. There are thousands of kids out there who would love to get a chance to play an in state rival on a nationally televised level, win lose or draw, and the kids at UK are going to miss out on that chance this year. What about the players families and friends who couldnt make it to the game ?

As LABS has stated, there is a long way to go before there is a final decision on the broadcast of this game. If not national coverage, I'd be VERY surprised to not see at least regional coverage.

But moving it has made sure it will not get the same national exposure it was getting as a stand alone game with little to no other sporting events on any channel, right? It was in an amazing slot on a holiday weekend...

:thumb: Good post, Imo it is sure not the players dodging it, this is all Brooks and Brainfart :irked: . By the way, what is this saying to your players :eek: if you are Brooks or Barnhart, I don't believe that you can win and I don't want us on National t.v.? Think about it . I am sure the players would want to play it.
