April 5, 200719 yr I have a bad feeling it is Matta... It's up to Mitch now. I think both would take it if offered...
April 5, 200719 yr It's up to Mitch now. I think both would take it if offered... Probably right and both are average x and o coaches at best, IMO...
April 5, 200719 yr I would not bet on Tom Crean at all. I think the top candidates right now are: Billy Gillespi - turned an 0-16 team (Big 12) from 3 years ago into a contender Jay Wright - brought Nova back to respectability Rick Barnes - has done a good job at Texas, but can't seem to get over the hump John Calipari - (though the boosters seem to want him more than Mitch, I still think he is a darkhorse candidate). He just scares me as someone who could get UK in trouble again. I think Mark Few runs to slow a game for many UK fans to be happy with, but he obviously can coach.
April 5, 200719 yr It's up to Mitch now. I think both would take it if offered... I'm with you.. I think UK will settle now and that isn't good.
April 5, 200719 yr Someone get on FlightAware and make sure there aren't planes coming in from Milwaukee...
April 5, 200719 yr O-VER-RA-TED I disagree. He did lose the national championship game, ... to the defending national champ, ... who had everybody back. I think he did an excellent job with a very young team, who will probably have Oden and Conley back next year! I don't see him leaving Ohio State right now.
April 5, 200719 yr I'm with you.. I think UK will settle now and that isn't good. So it was a 1-horse race?
April 5, 200719 yr I would rather us give Pelphrey or Ford a shot before hiring Crean!! I would have to agree. They are both LONG, LONG SHOTS without a long resume or huge successes in a short time, but I am with you on that one. But would the boosters give them much time to mature into a great head coach? Their UK pedigree might buy them a little time, but how much?
April 5, 200719 yr I agree Crean should not be on top of the list, but I found him as interesting and informative as Izzo, Roy Williams, and other big names at a coaching clinic once. He definitely knows his craft...and wasn't he also credited (besides Wade) for recruiting the Peterson & Cleaves class that led to Michigan State's big run?
