Milton's problem is that he doesn't have the guts to dust people off the plate. When you give up as many jacks as he does and continue to throw middle of the plate with a 86 MPH fastball you're asking for trouble. Put someone in the dirt just to get them thinking a bit.
April 16, 200719 yr Milton is a 5 inning pitcher at best. Even in his last start, I heard one radio guy say he was a single out away from a quality start. You put Milton out there and don't ask him to go past 5th inning. I recall that Mets game last July that in the 7th inning, Narron let him stay in there to pitch to the Mets big hitter and he jacked a HR. You have to realize who Milton is and don't ask him to be more.

I would expand that to our pitching staff in general. I remember last year Rich Aurilia was hit by a pitch, blatantly might I add, in his subsequent at bat after a home run. Next inning Claussen faces the opposing pitcher and throws to him like normal. I would have at least run a few way inside on him if not immediately pegged him.

April 16, 200719 yr 55 pitches after 2 innings. I doubt he makes it past the 4th... Which would be the ONLY reason to try and let Lohse finish that game yesterday. You may need everyone for today's game...:lol:
