April 17, 200719 yr You have to wonder how much this really means to Hamilton. I mean the emotions he is going through right now. We are watching his life change right in front of our eyes and its great to see someone get through the things he overcame.
April 17, 200719 yr He was on Jim Rome today and gave a good interview. He talked about how going to the park in the minors used to be a job to him. He just wanted to show up and go home. Now, he is enjoying the second chance, is looking forward to going to the different parks, etc. Hard not to cheer for the guy.

What else jumped out at me in that article is that a)he doesn't drive and b)he doesn't carry a wallet.
April 17, 200719 yr Milton is a 5 inning pitcher at best. Even in his last start, I heard one radio guy say he was a single out away from a quality start. You put Milton out there and don't ask him to go past 5th inning. I recall that Mets game last July that in the 7th inning, Narron let him stay in there to pitch to the Mets big hitter and he jacked a HR. You have to realize who Milton is and don't ask him to be more. Milton pitched to one batter and gave a single and Narron pulled him. Used Milton to the point that Milton tires or whatever and can't get anyone out. Reds were in the ballgame when Milton was pulled.

Griffey makes more money than what he has become, a good 3rd OFer batting 5th in the lineup. He will get hot at some point and carry the Reds for 2-3 weeks but he is not the 3rd hitter in a lineup anymore, no matter what his salary indicates.
April 17, 200719 yr The MAIN question facing Narron tonight is where does Hamilton go in this lineup. He has to be in there while the hitting is nonexistent. But where. You sit Jr at 11 mil a year and his potential to get hot and carry this team on his back for 2-3 weeks? You sit the Super Utilityman and leadoff hitter? You sit maybe your 2nd dangerous hitter in Dunn? You sit your two 1B and put Hamilton/Dunn at 1B? (I know I read in spring training that Hamilton could play 1B. And if Freel is so versatile, couldn't he play 1B?)
April 17, 200719 yr Let me say that was the most fun game I have been to yet. There were about 3 thousand fans left at the end and we were able to be loud and managed to get the wave going. All, and by the way, Hamilton should be starting. Put Edwin on the bench, Freel to third, and Hamilton to center field. If he is not in the line up than are manager position should have a new lineup.
