April 15, 200719 yr Grerat game by Lohse ! Reds take another series in spite of Narron's decisions. :sssh: I am talking about Lohse not going back out for the 9th in this one and imo Narron cost the Reds a series in the last one by his decisions/non decisions.. The Cubs were not coming close to Lohse, they had no clue. Worked out this time but how many times have we seen the pen come in and blow it in the past.
April 15, 200719 yr Excellent game by Lohse. Did EE get fined? Did anyone see it, I was listening on the radio and they said he was throwing everything he could touch. Either way, our pitching has been top notch, just need to get that hitting thing down. BTW, when did Ross' average jump to .87?
April 15, 200719 yr They need to send Ross down to AAA or straight up release him. The guy can't hit, period. It was pretty obvious last year when he hit .202 after the break.....
April 15, 200719 yr Ross is like having 2 pitchers at the end of the lineup. Not when Arroyo is on the mound, He is a better hitter than Ross. At least he makes contact every now and then.
April 15, 200719 yr Harang, Arroyo, Lohse, and Belisle is a pretty darn nice quad of arms in a rotation.
April 16, 200719 yr Lohse was very impressive today. With Harang hot and Arroyo and Belisle pitching well too, if the bats come around for the Reds, the NL Central could be in trouble. They need to play Valentine more. He is a much better hitter than Ross and that's despite not getting as many at bats as Ross...imagine what he could do with extra at bats.
April 16, 200719 yr Valentine is one of the best PH'ers in the league, I really hope Ross finds that lightning in a bottle again but I think his first half last season was him playing well above the back of his Topps.

That is very true, let's hope he quits playing well below it too. I like Valentin in the PH as well, seems like he can come in and get us a clutch hit every now and then when we need it. Now, we have Milton at GABP. Kind of like a par 3.

You know Narron has ultimate confidence in Milton, he's only skipped him twice so far this season. What's up with a 7 game home stand with 2/2 game series, that's strange?
April 16, 200719 yr When is George Grande going to be back in the booth? Because if it's tomorrow, he may call Capuano "Cappy" 700 times. I'm sure Welsh will pick up the slack if he isn't.
April 16, 200719 yr Lohse was as good as it gets on Sunday. He has the potential to be something special. Unless he indicated that he was done after eight, I don't know that I would have pulled him. He was dominating. I am worried about some of the sticks in our lineup. I hope the guys starting swinging the bats better as the weather warms up for good.
April 16, 200719 yr The problem with Valentin catching is he stinks defensively. Additionally, he gets run on all day. I'd rather see them give Moeller some starts, keep Valentin in his role (spot starts, #1 PH) and give Ross time to clear his head.

For some reason it seems like Narron does not like complete games being pitched. He did this to Bronson a few times last year, yanked him out in the 9th a few times.
