June 12, 200719 yr I have a scenario for you. What if by some fluke of epic proportions the Reds swept the Angels at home? (I know, they are facing arguably the 3 best pitchers they've faced all season, but for argument sake let's pretend we actually do have a shot because they are all righties) Let's pretend further that they managed to cut the deficit to 7 games back and have the Phils next. If they get mildly hot here on this stretch, they could get to as close as 5 games perhaps. How would everyone feel about Dunn's value then? I doubt that if that were the case and the Cincy faithful had the slightest glimmer of hope that they'd be clamouring for the Dunn trade. Would we be saying "get what you can while you can" for Dunner then? I doubt it! Sincerely, Spindoc (proud fan of the team from Knee-Jerk City)
June 12, 200719 yr Author The Reds today placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to yesterday, RHP Jared Burton (low back spasms); recalled from Louisville RHP Todd Coffey; reinstated from the 15-day DL and optioned to Louisville RHP Elizardo Ramirez (sore right shoulder)...Ramirez is scheduled to start for the Bats tonight.

June 12, 200719 yr Pulled off his rehab assignment with left shoulder inflammation... SON OF A... :irked:
June 12, 200719 yr The Magic Man FINALLY gets healthy and now Bray can't get back, it's always something.
June 12, 200719 yr Anyone heard that Griffey may be heading to ATL before the trade deadline. The Braves are included in one of the teams that he would waive his no trade clause for and it was mentioned on ESPN's Mike and Mike that "sources" say a deal may be in the works, and Jayson Stark also reported that the Braves may land Griffey.

Here's hoping, heck, he and uncle Miltie are 1/2 the payroll.
June 12, 200719 yr There would be another Braves fan on here if that occurred.... Some think the trade won't happen because the Reds would want too much for him and that would include catcher Jarrod Saltalacmahica, which the Braves said they are not entertaining any offers right now until they see how Scott Thorman can handle first base.

He'd be the one they'd be wanting.....I'd say he's in play due to them having McCann behind the plate.
June 12, 200719 yr He'd be the one they'd be wanting.....I'd say he's in play due to them having McCann behind the plate. Trust me, he's not in play for the fact that he can play 1st base. If Thorman doesn't work out, which it's looking that way, then Salty can play 1st. Braves GM said that he's not available and if by chance that he was around the trade deadline then it'd be for someone with multiple years left on their contract. Do I see the Braves trading Salty, I would say right now that I doubt it. He could definitely help the Braves at first base. Plus any deal that includes Salty would likely have to include some good pitching in return because that's what the Braves are looking for most of all. They have also been linked to wanting to trade for Mark Burhele from the White Sox.
