Track The Reds...

The good news is Saarloos should be able to help the pen immediately after this start. After he was given the hook I thought about his pre game interview with the Creeper, he kept talking about being on top of the ball and driving his sinker ball, sure didn't work today, most of his pitches looked like BP.

Who is the old dead weight you get rid of? Stanton? Fine. Who else do you eat contracts on???

Milton

They've already handled Coffey for a while.

Now that we're out of it, I'd cut Conine loose. Why keep him?

Make a decision on one of the catchers. No need for 3.

Decide on Encarnacion. Let him play the rest of the year at this level or trade him. I'd side with keeping him due to his age.

Trade Griff while he's hot.

See what Votto can do. See what Dumatrait(sp?) can do. See what McBeth can do. See what Tyler Pelland can do. See what Calvin Medlock can do. See what Sam LeClure can do.

I need to see something to get excited about for next year and beyond.

That could be the best spin job I've heard in a while.

Disclaimer: I am NOT advocating this kid needs to be brought up yet.

Jay Bruce is really doing well in Sarasota. .339 9 HRS 34 RBIs in about 40 games.

Brandon Szymanski , on the other hand,.....not so well.

It's 100% wrong to list Javy as a C. He's a PH. No more, no less. If one of the three go, it has to be Javy. How can you improve when you get worse???

I wish Dunner could play first.

Bruce is younger then Bailey isn't he? I know he was the first round pick a few years ago.

I guess I'm not following you.

We are the WORST right now.

Our starting rotation is getting back to a 2-man legit rotation with the other 3 not getting it done. Are we simply going to HOPE they get better? Do you think they WILL get better?

Why keep Conine?

Why keep Milton?

Why keep Griffey?

Are we good enough to have a player who cannot player catcher effectively and only PH occasionally?

Why not bring up Dumatrait? AA pitchers?

How many players on the 25-man roster will be on the roster next season?

I believe they were one year apart in high school.

I saw Bruce in rookie ball. He is a thick kid - probably a right fielder in MLB.

I agree....start the purge now.

You can axe Narron in the process...throw the fans a bone.

Is it all his fault? No. But they are dead. The most comical thing this week was Castelleni saying Narron was a winner. His track record suggest otherwise. Singing him to a two year deal was unwise.

After he is fired he will never be a manager in MLB again.

This will be the 15th year in the last 100 years that the Reds were below .400 record wise. The last 7 were axed. One took an extra year but was axed. the last two were Miley and Knight.

Play the rest of the year out. Give Dent the lineup card and start working Girardi. Take the rest of the year to target a manager and go after him.

Conine is near retirement. They picked him up and let the Harris kid go who is having a nice year.

Hatteberg is 37 but is still capable.

Trade Griffey for something. His stock is high and his helth is good for now.

Stanton has a ridiculous contract, but someone may pick him up. Get rid of him.

What is interesting is the Reds have an open roster spot. They only have 39 on the MLB roster. What is up with that?

We are in a long cycle of bringing guys up before they are ready.

We are out of the race earlier than normal in what people hoped could be at worst a stop gap year while the young talent was being restocked for the first time in a while.

Fans longed for Willie Green and Brandon Larson when things went sour. I let this group get me to mid July and see where they are.

Why cut guys and eat salary when there is a chance you can move them for something (anything).

This is a group that let a bunch of close loses snowball.

As I have said before, it's almost amazing the ways this team has found to come up short over the last 20 out of 25 games.

It's a horrible start with a bunch of "what the (fill in the blank)" moments.

But in the beginning it was "well we suck just about as much as the rest of this crappy division, so anything can happen".

Other than finding a crazy way to lose over a crazy way to win (like last year) not much has changed. And not much will change by bringing up guys that aren't ready or firing a manager for a marginal at best replacement when we get to October...

So because the division is bad and because we are creative at finding ways to lose, we stay the course?

Aren't we currently playing with guys that aren't ready?

Votto doesn't need to see MLB pitching while the team stinks? Isn't that better than seeing it for the first time next season when we think we still have a chance? Dumatrait, a AAA pitcher, doesn't deserve a chance right now? If not, when?

If not, when?

Late July or early August. Doing it now is a bad idea any way I look at it. 4 months for flaws to be exposed. Fun...

4 months to get experience and adapt to the Major League game....
