May 28, 200719 yr Saarloos wasn't a problem out of the pen. So they send him down to work out of the pen and bring up a guy with no real big league relief experience... The next few months are huge for Krivsky IMO. You've got one guy to keep. Who is it for the pen: Stanton or Saarloos?
May 28, 200719 yr I for one was sickened by hearing Wayne say the "the players are just trying too hard" the other day on the pre game show. My answer is "WHAT" !!!?? :mad: Did this comment bother anyone else? I am tired of excuses being made :fight: ! I was hoping that this management would be different, I am not so sure now . What the Reds have is a few "past prime" veterans that they brought in at a "bargin" price bc lets face it, they are cheap. That coupled with some minor league talent brought up that is not very good.! Like I said before, this front office wants top of the line results at rummage sale prices. I do believe that the Reds have rushed players up from the minors before they are ready. I also believe that as a whoile our (Reds) minor league system is not getting the job done in developing players. This Reds team is a VERY bad baseball team and the train wreck is only going to get worse. JMO and Go Reds!!

I would like to think that they wouldn't even think twice about that. Stanton is 40 and Saarloos is 28, age doesn't always mean better, but Saarloos has far more upside at this point than Stanton. Stanton must not have any options, I don't know why he is still on the 40 man roster.

Yep, it sucks because you want to have as many lefties as you can in the pen. But my goodness, if he can't get anyone out, what's the point.
