Because Miller is better. Plain and simple.
Debatable. And even if true, the gap isn't so big that it can't be erased ...

It isn't that big of a gap but Darius is better. He dominated their head to head matchup. Have you seen them both play? I have multiple times.

I think it has to be Bud Mackey, I understand Miller wasn't at the Sweet 16. How can you turn down the kid that won the MVP

By no means am I taking anything away from Mackey, he is a tremendous player, but it will be based on the play next year. Not what was done this season. With that said Mackey very well could be Mr. Bball next year.

I would agree on Henderson. He is a VERY nice player but has not gotten the pub that Mackey and Miller have.

As far as Hopson I don't see him as a first team all state, unless he changes a lot of things next season.

Yes, I have seen them both ... and head-to-head doesn't always determine the better player.

I was at the head to head matchup. I wouldnt say he dominated. He shot a poor fg%. I think both players are outstanding. I have seen both numerous times and I think both are far and away the 2 best players in the state going into next season.

In head to head:

Miller scored more points

Mackey had more rebounds

Miller was forced into more turnovers (6)

They were equal in assists

However, the ONLY stat that really matters when all is said and done is Mackey's team won the game.

And that also has little bearing on the question of which is the better player ... for starters, Mackey's surrounded by more talent than Miller.

I dont think that game really showed anything about who the better player was. Hey, both are great players. I think its exciting to have 2 in state players that are that good. I hope Gillispie makes both of them a priority, even though Mackey has already committed.

Let's see Ty Proffitt was the odds on favorite to win Mr. Basketball this year; Right? Let's look outside the box alitte bit because the "best player" in the state doesn't always win. What about the Stepp kid from JBHS winning he could end being the states all time leading scorer when done.

Leave it up to a Mason Co. person to start a thread on Mr. Basketball 08.. Since their season in 07 didnt end the way they wanted it to, so they have to already look forward to things in 08.. HA HA HA!

Lets see, I thought that your post on the Girls Forum were definitely ridiculous how you continued to take jab shots on how things were run at BC, so you finally got bored and now have to step over out of the county and take a jab at another high school program. Your an instant classic!

Anyone that saw Hopson play for University Heights last year saw an unmotivated talent that badly needs an attitude adjustment.

Its a shame a kid with such God-given ability as Hopson has plays so lazy and unmotivated. He is really wasting his talent. Hopefully he will turn it around.

Hopson is the most overrated player in the COUNTRY. He is purely an athlete and thats it. As far as Miller and Mackey go it will be a toss up and that is IF Bud stays at Scott County.

Is Bud indicating he might not stay? If so, where would he go?
