Darius Miller of Mason County. He should step up his game even more for his senior season.

Not sure why we are even discussing this, it is going to come down to the same argument as the kid from etown and Walls between Mackey and Miller. Miller has never proven himself at the big show (Sweet 16), he will win because he "doesnt play on a stacked team" that Mackey does which was the same argument against Walls. Mackey will be penilized because his team actually produces when it matters and other people on his team know how to score as well. You should have to play and produce at the Sweet 16 to when Mr. Basketball....just my opinion!

Victor Moses, Tyler Brown and Tyshawn Edmondson.

Another name to throw out there that I forgot is Michael Sparks from Tates Creek. He is a very nice player!

Who is Tyler Brown?

Brown averaged 16 points per game while leading Apollo on their surprise run to the state finals as a sophomore. He may be the best guard in western Kentucky.

With Bud Mackey going to Indiana, Darius Miller can commit to Kentucky and win Mr. Basketball. I'm not saying that's always how it happens, but I'm also not sure how Josh Carrier was the best player in the state a few years back! Or Brandon Stockton, for that matter!

Giving them props is fine. There are pleanty of talented players in the state and they deserve their time too. But Miller and Mackey are on a completely differently level and I would be SHOCKED if someone other than one of those two won. They are just in a whole other league.

Miller especially! He has to be the favorite.

My top 5 for Mr. Basketball next year is Miller, Mackey, Hopson, Mack, and Moses.

If there are 5 better players in the state next year let me know

It will be interesting. I think for the 1st time in a while we will have a Mr. Basketball who is also well known across the country when it comes to high school basketball.

He is now, but in high school he was not. I am not trying to take anything away from Lofton. He is as good as any Kentucky high school kid in atleast the last decade, but Miller, Mackey, and Hopson are known more than Lofton in high school and there is a lot of buzz right now about those guys.

Hopson is looking more focused and this is summer ball. It seems Coach McCoy is making an impression. Will it last...we will see. If Hopson plays to his potential this will be a strong KY senior class. One of the best in years. Maybe top heavy but very talented at the top.

I have said since this class were 11 year olds playing against each other in AAU this may well be one of the best if not the best overall classes in Ky history. At the top are 4 or 5 big time D1 players, then a few mid major D1's & this class is loaded with potential NAIA, Div 3 type kids. Enjoy them & this coming year of high school basketball.

It will be one of these two, imo. Both players should be at Rupp next March. Whichever performs the best will be Mr. Basketball.
