Elder TE, Rudolph commits to Notre Dame

Featured Replies

I don't recall his name being mentioned with Ohio State but, I could be wrong.

Jim Tressell came to watch Kyle play basketball. Also hosted the pep rally at Elder that day. They had offered and were very interested.

Well, sure. But was he really interested in the kid or did he just come for the Hudy Delight?

Then I was wrong but this is no great loss for the Buckeyes.

Time will show this.

Rudolph's the second best tight end in his class in the nation according to most services, and he's athletic enough to be named back-to-back POY in a basketball conference that produced both Ohio division I finalists this year. Neither of which was his team, and he's an underclassmen.

Yeah, with credentials like that, I can see how your statement makes sense, he must not be very athletic.

I can assure you Tressel doesn't feel the same way. Whether you believe it or not, when a DI college loses a recruit it is a great loss...PERIOD.

Not sure what the bitterness is but it's pretty lame, IMO...

My question is, if I'm a TE, why go to OSU? Notre Dame has made the TE a pretty focal part of their offense with Fosano and Carlson getting over 40 balls each. OSU is obviously a top 3 program, it's just more fun for a TE at Notre Dame.

Rivals has just awarded Kyle Rudolph a 5-star ranking. Over the past 6 years just 4 tight ends have received such an honor. Two of which became 1st round NFL draft picks.

Cornhole tournament, that's why he was there.

Talked to Kyle's dad a few weeks ago. He mentioned that he was also voted 1st team all GCL this year in basketball. Great kid, great athlete, great family....

And then there's the academic excellence of Notre Dame, as well as tradition. Sounds like the perfect fit for an Elder kid! Congrats!

Any young man that earns a trip to ND, has the academic credentials to "get in" and have the time of your life playing football for the Irish..... Sounds like a once in a life time opportunity. Congrats and enjoy the ride before, during and after your time at ND.

PS - I would not be surprised to see ND win a BCS game in the next 4 years..... We all know they will be invited....

That's something my Exec. Director and I were talking about. That is a degree that's on a different level than most...
