Will never happen. High School basketball is fine the way it is. The only shuffling that needs to be done is just getting teams geographically situated and placed in districts and regions that they deserve to be in. In my opinion, that is of greater concern now and in the future than classifying basketball.

 

The people that vote on these issues, such as classifications are the voting delegates of the KHSAA members schools, and there will never be a vote with enough support to switch in the near future.

Kind of splitting hairs, aren't we? Russellville was and is a Class A school ... they probably would've won the All A Classic those two seasons.

I thought UHA had two foreign born players on that team. Where was Cline from?

Have you ever been to a Kentucky State Football finals? If you have you will know that a Class AA football championship does not compare in excitement or emotion to last night's state basketball championship. I bet if I asked most Kentucky sports fans who won the AAA state football championship in 1999 they would have to look it up unless their team was in it. But if you ask a Kentucky sports fan who won the Sweet 16 in 1999 they will reply Ballard without hesitation.

 

I think the All A is fine. If you want a tournament for super small schools that would be a nice tournament also. But let's don't kill our Sweet 16.

They did this because they had a chance to do so. Look their is the All A for small schools. Thats a chance for those schools to win a state championship. And they have the chance to beat the big schools. Also the Sweet 16 is magical!

It looks like to me that out of the 80 teams that have been in the final four in the last 20 years over 13% have been Class A size schools. That averages to 1 Class A size school in the final four every other year.
