You and I are nearly always in step on things, but if you don't think this roster (today's roster) is more than capable of dismantling G-Webb at home than we'll have to vehemently agree to disagree. There is NO WAY that team should come into Rupp Arena and win...period.

 

If the cupboard stacked to the point of a Final 4 run? No. Is that a good thing? No. However, this roster should have NO problem with back-cutting bunch from Western Carolina.

Talent wise they are more than capable of beating Gardner Webb. They just have a few players (Crawford, Bradley) that really hurt them IMO. Im not blaming this loss soley on Tubby at all. But dont see how you can really blame it on Billy G either. To me, I blame it on the players 100%. I dont care who is coaching that team UK should never NEVER lose to a team like GW. The seniors lack of heart and desire is what really gets me I guess.

Yeah the last two years were not so good, yet we still managed to finish better than the team everyone loves to hate in Duke. So even in the last two years which were not that great, we still did better than another top program, yet no one wanted that coached fired... And as I said even the last two years we still did better than that other program everyone hates in Duke..

 

Errrr...not to draw straws here but last year UK went further than Duke...two years ago Duke lost in the Sweet 16...while UK lost in the Round of 32.....also let me remind you that Duke has been to two Final Fours THIS century, and brought home a title .

This loss was based on BCG burning out their legs early. If he is not careful he can burn them out for good, circa JJ and Big Shel at Duke.

I just brought that up, because everyone wants to talk about the last two years and how bad they have been. But in reality for the last two years, we have had the same average finish in the NCAA tournament as Duke. I mean that just shows you all great programs have years where they dont do so well, because that tournament is A LOT tougher now than it was in the mid 90's when UK fans got spoiled with that 3 year run...I mean I would be willing to bet A LOT OF money say three years ago if we won that double overtime time game against MSU and made the final four, that the same people would have still wanted Tubby gone after the last two years and would have found another excuse to use besides the final fours..Actually I bet you if Tubby had the same resume as coach K for this century with 2 final fours, but not so hot the last couple of years, that they still would have wanted him gone. My point is that I believe no matter what Tubby did, it would not have mattered because a lot of people didn't want him here from the beginning, so they would never be happy with him and that was not fair. great post :thumb: and that is no disrespect to Duke. They are "suffering" the same as most of the elite programs around UK, Duke, Temple, Lousiville and Indiana aren't the same anymore. Sure those teams have had some good runs (except Temple, lately) but they are not DOMINANT every year anymore.

So in short, you are saying that your post was wrong?
