Dixie or Yankee?

Featured Replies

They didn't have the question: Do you say please when you don't understand someone? I bet the southern scores would go up.

No, the Cincinnati scores would though. ;)

I turned out 50% Yankee.

North of the river is defiinately Yankee. Saying please when you don't understand someone is waaaaay to polite to be a Yankee saying.

You don't even want to go there, about which culture is more 'polite.'

Let's just say that it depends on which circles you run in, and what you happen to look like.

I think she was just trying to be a loyal Kentuckian. However, it is said that folks in the south are more polite in general. But I think it really comes down to the individual.

Didn't mean to offend. Good friends of ours from the deep south (Charleston) do consider north of the Ohio river as Yankee territory. Your right I should not have insinuated that Yankees are not polite. I certainly didn't mean it that way. Personnally being from NKY I don't see myself as Yankee or Dixie. Basically stuck in the middle which causes me to look as everyone the same. However, I really don't understand what you mean by the bolded part of you commment.

63% Dixie... but don't EVER expect to see me with a Confederate flag on anything.

50% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.

Does that really make me Yankee since it's 50%? I need a consensus.

You're one of dem citified women! Don't you go vamp'in Mr. RK!

He's more dixie than me and he's been one of them there dang yankee's his entire life:lol:

60% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score!

Considering that I was born in New York with two parents from New York...

62% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score!

65% Dixie. Sounds about right, for someone who spent 22 years in Maryland and 29 years in Ky.
