Oldham Co. v/s Scott Co. predictions

Featured Replies

For the record ... I wasn't necessarily a big fan of the entire realignment. I don't doubt that some politics played a role in some of the movement that occurred.

But for years there was the perception that the KHSAA was doing things that would keep the gate receipts rolling in ... the realignment, especially with Scott moving into the 11th, hurts the Sweet 16 pocketbook.

I'm hoping that this game will be a little closer than most people think. I just don't feel that Forrest has the man power to get over the hump against Scott County. On the other hand, you should be prepared for Oldham to come out with a great game plan. Go COLONELS!!!

From what I've heard it was a group effort. :irked:

Do you blame them?

You make it sound as if Scott County owned this region while they were in it, which is not true. They had some success in the 90's, but Oldham has won the region 4 times in the last seven years, including three straight in 2001-2003. Most of the teams in the 8th region probably wanted Scott County out, but it's not because they were a perennial power in the region.

Do you have to win the region to be a perennial power? I would call Shelby and Oldham perennial powers in the 8th also.

I don't think Scott will call off the Dogs unless it gets too physical... Cards by 18

If you are right about them not calling off the dogs, it may be the best thing for the rest of the field. I don't know anything about the two programs or the "feuding" between them. From the sounds of it, this game could be very physical, and possibly hurt Scott Co.'s chances at a possible State Championship run.

I have watched Billy Hicks coach for a long long time. He will not intentionally run it up on anybody. If the SC subs run it up he wont stop them.

I love watching the games, but sometimes watching the benches is just as entertaining....:sssh:

Scott County should win

Scott County should win

I think the DR is right.

Scott County 88

Oldham 56

I dont thikn they can run it up on Oldham. They are a good enough team to not be completely blown out of the game, ubt they ar def. not good enough to win the game. Its a good thing they have Forrest on the sidelines tihs year.

Just for kicks I thought it would be fun to see where Scott Co's last several opponents rank on the Litkenhous and compare these with SC's potential state tournament opponents:

Regional Tournament:

Tates Creek 89.1 (9th in the state)

Lexington Catholic 90.7 (6th in the state)

Frankfort 56.8

District Tournament

Bryan Station 93.6 (4th in the State)

Henry Clay 82.3 (19th in the State)

Potential State Tournament Opponents:

Oldham County 74.2

Adair Co. 73.9 v/s Lincoln Co. 73.9

Holmes 79.8 v/s Paducah Tilghman 73.2 or South Laurel 85.1 v/s Fairdale 83.4

It means nothing - but we have to talk about something between now and next Wednesday :jump:

BTW - Scott Co's number is 100.8

Like you said Yoda, they mean nothing, I looked at those numbers and thought we'd beat Oldham but those numbers didn't help.

I was looking at them more as a comparison between the strength of the 11th region v/s the state tournament teams. None of these rankings serve as good predictors...
