Oldham Co. v/s Scott Co. predictions

Featured Replies

Some folks may look at the rankings and the records and think that Scott Co. will blow out Oldham Co. A closer look might show that Gary Forrest's teams have done quite well against SC. The underlying anamocity that stemmed from SC being kicked out of the 8th region just throws fuel on the fire. I'm guessing that this one will be closer than most people think. I'll take the Cards 62-54 - it will be an ugly game and there will be many who leave the gym unimpressed with SC.

Oldham County 50

DOn't know much about Oldham but I've seen Scott Co and they're tough. I say Scott Co by anywhere from 12-20

Oldham is not impressive but they just seem to keep finding ways to win. They had a three point win against Walton, then a one point win against Anderson and when people did not think they had a real chance against Simon Kenton they win in OT. I am starting to become a beliver of coach Gary Forrest.

Scott County has much more talent than Oldham. This game will get ugly.

SC by 22

Scott County is a basketball team on a different level this year. They have a roster that is similar to some smaller colleges in the state and are probably better than more than a few. All that being said Oldham will be well prepared by Coach Forrest and may keep it closer than most people think but Scott will be to much.

Cardinals 62

Colonels 43

I predict frosty pregame and postgame handshakes from the two head coaches ... I feel pretty safe with that one.

Are you implying that Oldham had something to do with it?

From what I've heard it was a group effort. :irked:

Do you blame them?

You need to do something about your paranoia ...

You speak of things which you have no clue my friend. The 8th region is full of jealousy and back stabbing. How could Coach Hicks have gone all those years and NOT ONCE been voted coach of the year by his peers - jealousy. Why was Clay County able to petition to stay in the same region - granted; while Scott Co's petition was denied? Do you know who spoke up at the meeting giving reasons why Scott Co. should be moved to the 11th? Someone made the prediction that it will be a cold handshake to start the game - that's the surest bet going....

I've given props - Forrest is a good coach. He'll have a good game plan. But I hope Walls and company take care of business in this one.

Just because a lot of 8th Region schools harbored a lot of resentment towards Scott County doesn't mean they were able to influence the KHSAA into moving them into the 11th Region.

From a geographic standpoint, Scott is a better fit in the 11th, like it or not. It seems clear that you don't.

I don't mind us being in the 11th. It's great games almost every night. I don't like the way it was done. Weather it influenced the KHSAA decision or not - the line was drawn.

I don't think Scott will call off the Dogs unless it gets too physical... Cards by 18

With all the realignment and reclassification stuff that has happened with this group in power there are a lot of shady things that went on. One thing to mention is the plan (I dont know if they are going to change it or not) to put the new Harlan County HS in a district with Shelby Co and several other teams up that way. That is a very long trip!

Also, this year the Sweet 16 has been weakened pretty good. Scott Co made it and 4 other top 10 teams in the state didnt because they all play in the same region. Why would you put a perennial power like Scott Co into 1 of the atleast top 2 regions in the state?

Theres a lot of other stuff around the 13th region, but I wont get into that right now.
