March 14, 200719 yr Author Bengals unrestricted free agent safety Kevin Kaesviharn has agreed to terms on a four-year contract worth $10 million with the New Orleans Saints. "I just felt like, when you weighed everything, the two teams (Bengals and Saints) are similar in their chances of going to the playoffs," Kaesviharn said tonight in a phone interview. "You want to play as a player. I knew I would get an opportunity to play in Cincinnati. They couldn't tell me I would start, and nobody can give you that. You have to earn it. New Orleans is going to give me the opportunity to start." Kaesviharn said he had offers from four teams -- Saints, Bengals, Browns and Cardinals. "Some of them were more firm than others," he said of the offers http://frontier.cincinnati.com/blogs/bengals/2007/03/kaesviharn-agrees-on-four-year-deal.asp#comments
March 14, 200719 yr I hate this KK was one of my family's favorite Bengals. Good luck to Kevin in N.O.!
March 14, 200719 yr Bengals keep losing defenders and looking to players off of the IR or draft to replace them. For the Bengals to make a Super Bowl run, this draft will need to be the best in the team's history.
March 15, 200719 yr I'm gonna miss KK, liked the guy. But can't blame him or the Bengals really, he wouldn't have likely started consistantly, and we shouldn't pay him the money he knew he could get else where.
March 15, 200719 yr Not going to miss KK.... Why not? He was a very good backup safety to have to throw in the game if we needed him. Yeah he is not a starter and that is why we didn't pay him that money, but it should would have been nice to have him as a backup safety again...

Yeah he is not a starter and that is why we didn't pay him that money, but it should would have been nice to have him as a backup safety again... And there's no-one on the roster to fill his shoes. Granted, the money was too much for Cincy to spend, but this defense is going backwards IMO. Outside the 4 starters in the defensive backfield, the backups are just average. And, you can't really trust O'Neal to give 100% each play. I'm very worried about the defensive backfield now.
March 15, 200719 yr KK gets burned more than my toast.... And YET, he was the best safety on the roster last year and the Bengals have not gave any indication they will bring anyone to replace him. So the players that were below him last year will be trying to replace a player they couldn't unseat from PT last year.
