March 12, 200719 yr 1)Butler too high at #5...imo, should have been a 7 or 8 2)SIU too high at #4...imo, should have been a 6 3)Maryland too high at #4...imo, should have been a 6 4)others probably 1 level too high: Duke, Virginia, USC, Oregon IMO, the teams that got underseeded were: Nevada at #7, should have been no worse than a 5... Marquette at #8, should have been a 6 or 7 at worse Texas A&M at #3, should have been a #2 at worse, possibly even a #1 Illinois at #12, should have been at least a #10 SIU is a good team... if they win their conference tourney they are probably a 3 seed... they have a high RPI and beat everybody in their league, which is a good league!.. they are not overseeded... they are right where they should be... Marquette is underseeded Texas A&M pushed themselves out of the #2 line when they dropped the ball in their conference tourney Illinois probably is one of three I would replace in the whole tournament... they are lucky to be there and definately not underseeded....

NCAA politics at it best. You think they're worse than Arkansas? Xavier? They both got at large bids, and I'm confident UK is better than both of them, and their resume is certainly better.
March 13, 200719 yr I'd agree with you every year but this one. No doubt they are very talented this year. Certainly can't take that away from them. Perhaps I should amend my statement to say they have "averaged" an overseeded position over the past several years because they probably do in fact deserve it this year.
