It should be a fun matchup.

Teams that give UK fits are teams that can shoot and punish them inside athletically.

Nova has the first, but not as much with the second.

If people think Morris is foul prone, Curtis Sumpter is Obrzut and Morris combined foul wise.

UK has to shoot well, and take care of the ball.

It is imperative that Morris comes out with the foucs he played with in the SEC Tourney.

I think UK will win this one...last year most thought UAB would take them down.

I see this as a similar situation.

This year's Nova team is better than last year's UAB team.

Morris is going to have to carry UK the first 2 rounds and hope the other teams have off games, or decent games for us to win.

Probably so, but Nova is not a physical or overly athletic bunch.

That is a good matchup for UK.

What? Nova isn't physical or athletic? I strongly disgaree..

They lost to Xavier.

If you do anything such as sneeze, Xavier will fold.

Not overly athletic. Reynolds is a nice player. Nardi? Sumpter is a nice player but not near the athlete he was befor the injuries.

They play in the Big East...the above is a pre-requisite to compete in the Big East.

They play good defense.

Offensively, they are 4 out and 1 in, looking for mismatches.

The Big East today is not so much the BE of old...get it in the half court and just beat each others brains in.

They hit the offensive glass.

Can you attack the rim on them? Absolutely, not too many shot blockers in there.

Containing Reynolds off screens will be key...if they can do that...Nova will cough it up. Nova is very turnover prone.

They are also prone to stretches were they dont score.

Dang...sounds like UK.

I could see the Cats going out in the first round, that could possibly be Tubby's last loss as a Wildcat Head Coach in my mind. As for Kansas, yeh I'm hating myself right now for thinking they'd likely make the final four before the seeds were even announced....

So do I, Nova can play. U.K. can win this one but it will be a tough matchup. Imo it would take one of their better efforts of the season.

When you are UK and you are an 8 seed and thinking that it will take one of your best efforts of the season to knock out a 9 seed so that you can apparently get prison loved by a #1 seed, what does that say for the program now? 2 years in a row as an 8 seed. We could, at one time, have an outbreak of the stomach flu and not worry about a 9 seed. On top of that, it really is not looking all that much better for next year. My, how we have fallen!

I take U.K. by 3. Sumpter will pick up his third foul in less than 13 minutes, you heard it here. I think Crawford finishes with less than 10, and Meeks finishes with 20:sssh:

IMO, UK will beat Nova..The Cats will utilize there superior bench, depth and size to outman Nova.. Nova has a pretty decent club and have looked like world beaters a few times this year, but, have also looked horrible in others.. Even though UK lost to MSU in the SEC tourney, I think they're playing with more energy lately and I look for them to be playing there best ball of the year in the tournament...As far as Kansas goes, I personally feel they have looked better than the other top seeds, but, they are in no way, near as strong as UConn was last year as a #1 and UK was not as strong as they are this year, so, imo, if they make it to the 2nd round, they've got a better than average shot of pulling the upset..

I think UK will beat Nova but I will Pick Nova in my bracket. As far as second round either team gets beat by at least 20 by the Jayhawks.:walk:
