Even if Tubby elects to leave the university of his own volition, I'd be willing to bet that sabotaging the recruitment of prospective players for the basketball team will not be a factor in his decision

And with Jasper, Stewart and maybe Carter as the role players things look a lot better. Get things right in 08 and all is well. Funny how the recruiting game works...

Very likely both are at UK for at least 3 years...
March 1, 200719 yr If you knew anything about the way Macy was at Morehead, you'd be strongly against having him anywhere near Lexington. We dont want Macy to be the HEAD coach. IF you know anything about Morehead you know that when he was at the helm they were perrenialy at the top of the FT shooting percentage of the OVC.
March 1, 200719 yr And to add to it, they will have beat out some major players for each... OkState, OK, MD for Lucas. Duke, Florida for Patterson. It's been a while since that has happened... Just be glad Kansas or North Carolina isn't in the mix, we would lose out for sure. All looks good on these two. I've said all along I won't get my hopes up, but will wait untill they sign before I jump for joy, however all signs are saying we will beat out the above mentioned.

That's why it's hit and miss. You hit a couple targets then your program is back in the driver seat. On the flip side, you miss a couple targets, then you set your program back a few years. So it is funny how the recruiting game works and some definately know how to work it better than others.
March 1, 200719 yr Here's another random question: Would Tubby leave on purpose so that UK doesn't get either of them, to spite the fans for all of the garbage that he has had to put up with over the years? Tubby's job depends too much on these guys for him to just let them slide away to get back at some fans. Believe me, even though his seat is starting to burn, Tubbs still knows he has the best job in America. In otherwords, he doesn't really want to leave anytime soon, and he is praying he does something to get back in the saddle before he eventually gets toasted in Barnhardts oven.

The thing that hurt Tubby is he missed twice in a 3 year period, so that ended up putting two bad recruiting classes on the same team at once. I think Tubby has learned now that to stay on top you got to be consistent in recruiting every year, and that is why we see him doing alot more recruiting himself instead of just letting assistants do it..I know loyalty is a rear thing in today society and there needs to be more of it, but I really think if Tubby would stop being so loyal to his assistants, and actually get rid of some of them and add better assistants then we would be just fine because Tubby is one of the top coaches in the country. He just doesn't have the top assistants, like most top coaches have...
