Isn't Rondo in the NBA?....Or, is him being there, going to be a despite Tubby and of course, no credit given..As far as Crawford and Morris goes, who's to say both won't be playing in the NBA...Morris made a mistake and now can't go back in the draft..If he could, either this year or next, I feel confident, he would get drafted...Crawford, may be like Buike and go undrafted but find his way on a team or he could possibly be a late round pick...Besides Prince and Bogans, theres Magloire, who was a Pitino recruit, but, couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time when playing under Pitino, and he developed under Tubby, then theres Azabuike, Hayes, Rondo...Thats 6 playing at the next level right now and I may be mistaken, but, I believe Fitch, Daniels and Camara all had stints in the NBA, albeit, not very long stints...Hawkins may have, as well...As far as Carruth, Parker and Stone goes, you've got a head case who couldnt make it anywhere, another who battled injuries and off the court issues, who also had these at other places, then you have a transfer, who never panned out, even under the legendary tuttelidge of the master himself, Pitino...I'd also like for someone to go back and look at the last 10 years of McD AAs and tell me how many made the NBA and how many didn't. I believe you will see a high% not making it, proving it's not just a Tubby thing...

 

Making it to the NBA has zero to do with this discussion...if you can look back a few years from now and say, the '05-06 and '06-07 seasons weren't that bad because Rondo, Crawford and Morris are all now playing in the NBA, then good for you...I'm talking about what they're doing for Tubby at UK. So far, that class has accomplished next to nothing. Obviously, they have individual talent, which is my point....all that talent has been the core group of one of the worst two year (non-probation) runs in UK history. :thumb:

Good post, except I am not giving up on this season yet. I actually like our chances in the SEC tourney to win atleast 2 games. Shoot if we can continue to play western division teams we will be in great shape. I am cautiously optimistic that we can really have a good month of March.

If Bobby Perry plays like he did last night, it would go a long way toward helping this team make a run...otherwise, I don't think they have a chance. Maybe he'll pull a "Jeff Sheppard" and go crazy in his last post-season as a UK player. :lol: I sure hope so!

The thing is we have competed with everyone we have played this year except for Memphis. I think we can just get a little more effecient we can beat some good teams and make a run. We have some players starting to step up. If we can get Crawford backing going we should be in very good shape down the stretch.

The problem is we haven't won against any of the really good teams we've played...so, while it's easy to see UK putting a great game together and upsetting someone, it's much more of a stretch to see them putting together a 4 or 5 game stretch like that...but, again, I hope they do, and I really think Bobby Perry becoming a real threat on the offensive end is the key to that being possible...otherwise, it's still gonna be 3 on 5 when we have the ball.

Here's another random question: Would Tubby leave on purpose so that UK doesn't get either of them, to spite the fans for all of the garbage that he has had to put up with over the years?

I think Meeks consistently being an offensive threat for us is also a key. The great thing is, after Sunday everyone is back even and UK has a chance to redeem itself with some big wins in the tournaments.

That is true, he doesn't try to shoot at all, and dont you think that hurts the team because other teams know they can lay off of him because he wont shoot. He is very good when we are out in running, but for the most part we are not out and running, we are usually in the half court set and he does NOTHING in the half court set. He doesn't even drive the ball to the hoop in the half court. When it comes to the half court he is a liability. He started off the year so great for us in the Maui Invintational and other games. But since the start of the year he hasn't really done ANYTHING to really help out the team much. I mean I think you can just look at the game yesterday, I think Tubby is even noticing Jasper is not doing to much anymore, and that is why he didn't play as much as usual yesterday and we saw Porter in more than usual. I do agree with you that he is a team player unlike Rondo, and I think Jasper is going to be very good EVENTUALLY...

I remember guards laying off of Rondo more because he was a penetrator. Not everyone can be a scorer. How many teams have 5 double digit scorers? Very few, if any.

 

He helps the team immensely by running the show, getting the team into the offense, and distributing the ball; he even looks for the long easy basket at every chance.

I don't think Jasper's lack of offense would be as big an issue if UK was getting any production from the 4-spot, but as it stands, when Jasper is on the floor with (Perry, Thomas or Stevenson) UK is often playing 3 on 5 at the offensive end. Hopefully, if we land Patterson, this won't be an issue next year.
