February 26, 200719 yr Recruiting would improve! Darn tootin' . Why do you think I named that duo? :ylsuper:
February 27, 200719 yr As far as I know the job is not vacant. Maybe this kind of thread and others like it would have more merit when and IF it is vacant.
February 27, 200719 yr Author Why have your name in the title?Of this thread? I was joking, saying I was being talked about for the job, like every other possible coach out there.
February 27, 200719 yr Tom Izzo and Mark Few...I'm pretty sure those names have been thrown around. Just for the sake of fun and I am bored, I would suggest Gillipse (spelling) at Texas A&M 'IF" the job came open. Imo ther is no way that Izzo could be pryed away from Mich. St.. Few is good but I am not convinced how good of record he would be on a stage like U.K.. Gonzaga has had a lot of sucsess for them but they do play in a weak conference. He has had some impressive wins over top teams but I am not sure how his record would read if he played/coached in that kind of setting the entire season or with much more expected of him at an elite program.
February 27, 200719 yr I figured everyone other person in the world has or is going to have a thread of this nature in the next month or so, why not me? :irked: Let's keep a t ab on how many people get speculated to get this job, that is not even open. So far we have: Billy Donovan Mike D'antoni John Thompson III Tom Crean Dennis Felton Jay Wright John Pelphry Travis Ford Pat Riley John Calipari Feel free to add to the list.... I think we can safely say that Donovan will not leave Florida for KY. Take him off the list. John Thompson - I don't think so...... Take him off the list. Some people have put Pitino on the list, Never happen, Again...... Take him off the list, Pat Riley would be a great coach, UK would have some real convincing to do in order to land him.... Barnhart is to "new" school to land Riley.... Take him off the list. Crean is another excellent candidate, not sure he wants to join the UK fishbowl.... the Pelphry's and Ford's are just not proven enough to take the reins of the UK program. Calipari could be a candidate, Im not sure how much he loves Memphis. Probably would not leave, having a great '07. Few at Gonzaga, well, Im not convinced he would be the man for the UK job. So..... whos left on the list which is a real and possible candidate??????????
February 27, 200719 yr Don't forget Stan Heath. There was actually a Wildcat fan last week who suggested him. And, he should be available at the end of the season.
