February 28, 200719 yr I think Centre had the player of the year last year in the SCAC in Reggie Magnusson (sp), a big man out of Norway. Congratulations to Coach Mason and all the players. Good luck in the NCAA's. I have made an error. Reggie is from that that other bastion of European basketball talent ---- Iceland.
February 28, 200719 yr This is one BGP'er who'll be rooting them on all the way. And this is another one. Got to cheer on the old Alma Mater. Go Praying Colonels! As I recall, Centre went pretty deep in the DIII basketball playoffs my junior or senior year, which would have been the winter of 79 or 80. Hopefully they can make it happen again this year.
February 28, 200719 yr Nice article on Greg Noll, a frosh on Centre's team and a CovCath grad, in today's on line version of the Advocate Messenger if some one wants to add the link. Don't know how to do that technical stuff.
February 28, 200719 yr Led by Matt Nestheide's 31, Centre defeated Trinity 72-57. Matt was 11-16 and 8-11 from three point range. Centre is now 23-4 and will play in the D-III tourney. :dancingpa :dancingpa :ylsuper: :ylsuper:

February 28, 200719 yr Center has had a soild year and I look for it to carry over into next year as well.
February 28, 200719 yr Congrats goes out to a Couple 15th region guys on the Centre Roster, Kris Bentley(Prestonsburg/Shelby Valley) & Stuart Rutledge(Paintsville).
March 1, 200719 yr 31? Was HSSRB guarding him? Wow, sorry Bobby Jones, I didn't realize you were on BGP. Nesto didn't get 31 off of me this summer...although, admittedly, he could have. :walk: ColonelCrazy, you are officially on my list. Leatherneck, with the game he played against Highlands last year, I'm shocked you didn't remember his first name was Danny.
March 1, 200719 yr Nesto didn't get 31 off of me this summer...although, admittedly, he could have. :walk: Why would he want to stop shooting once he hits 31?
March 1, 200719 yr Why would he want to stop shooting once he hits 31? Lucky for me it was tough for him to get shots on that team. Sorry CC, I forgot you spent all summer locking up Northern KY's finest. :walk:
March 1, 200719 yr And this is another one. Got to cheer on the old Alma Mater. Go Praying Colonels! As I recall, Centre went pretty deep in the DIII basketball playoffs my junior or senior year, which would have been the winter of 79 or 80. Hopefully they can make it happen again this year. Centre has made the Division III Final Four twice in their history: 1978-79, when they finished 25-5 and then again in 1988-99, when they finished 24-7.
March 1, 200719 yr What a great season for Centre! Congrats to Coach Greg Mason and team! Why haven't I read about this in the paper - where is Rick Bailey? The Advocate-Messenger out of Danville covered the event. Here's a link: http://www.amnews.com/public_html/?module=displaystory&story_id=29524&format=html
