Patrick Patterson/Jai Lucas rumor

I'm just pointing out that it isn't "good news" for UK recruiting. I'm sure Patterson would have been much more impressed with UK if the Cats had pulled the big upset instead of getting stomped.

Would he though? Put yourself in his shoes. Wouldn't you want to play for the team that doesn't win? I would look at it from the standpoint that I could help the losing team get much better. Competitiveness drives you to choose the losing team.

^ Florida is playing more exciting ball right now...those kids look to be leaving, and with that leaving a legacy...that looks awfully attractive to me....

Patrick Patterson being at the game could have hurt or helped Kentucky's recruiting. He also might have seen that the Cats need him more than the Gators do, and that there is a lot more playing time available for him at Kentucky.

I think a kid wants to be a part of a winning program first and foremost. To be on a team that can challenge for the title. To have a chance to win a ring. That is why the saying goes, "nothing succeeds like success". It would have been better for the Cats to win today. IMO.

Even though the Cats have really struggled the past two years, Kentucky is still a winning program, and with the addittion of a couple of players lke Lucas and Patterson would have the type of team that could challenge for a title. Florida already has a couple of 4 star forwards that have sat the bench as Freshman waiting for their chance next year. I'm sure that will play a lot into Patterson's decision. You never know. Besides I've heard from a pretty good source that is usually right, that Patterson is Duke bound anyway. We'll just have to wait and see how the next month plays out. ;)

My only thing is this....Patrick Patterson is what? 18 years old? UK last went to the Final Four in 1998, PP was 9....Florida has been twice since then....that's what sticks in these kids' heads nowadays.

There's no doubt that plays a huge part, but I still think playing time may rank ahead of that. I say we'll know what his deciding factor was this time next month.

^ Way to step out on a limb :p

Or maybe the fact that UK desperately needs him, and would be a major factor in their next title.

Despite the Final Four drought, UK has had some very good teams after '98.

Yea, that arguement does not work for Mayo...

Patterson will be at UF. Trust me on this one fella's.

Says the guy with the UF avatar. ;)

Right...we in the Commonwealth know that all too well....how many kids across the nation would remember the #1 overall seed UK, being beat by UAB and the twins...or DWade's triple-double to oust the Cats? They won't...
