Yea, that arguement does not work for Mayo...

Playing in LA? Hmm.

Yea, that arguement does not work for Mayo...

Mayo is pretty easy to figure out. He is only doing a year in college because he has to. So why not spend a year being the big fish in USC's little pond in sunny SoCal. Not so dumb if you think about it. If he signed for one year at a traditional powerhouse, he would be reminded that he isn't bigger than their program. I'm sure that isn't a concern at USC. Plus I'm sure he will get some killer Laker tickets.:D

I think the joke was that Mayo is old enough to remember...

So we've got one saying he's Duke bound, another saying he's definitely Florida bound, and still others saying he's going to UK......

I say the person who really knows it PP, and no one else.

Shouldn't that read "paid to play" in LA? :D

I don't think that Mayo plans on being around in college after one year. He imo is not worried about any final 4's, he is using the NCAA as short stay for the NBA. That is what gets me about all these kids with great talent now :irked: . A person can't blame them I guess for taking the $$$ but jmo it is ruining college basketball. Imo if they sign with a college team they should have something like a "3 year rule" before they could jump.

Are you saying that the "Pete Carroll Reality Co." plan  may also include the basketball program? :D

NOT ACCURATE AT ALL.

He was given it on the way to a recruiting trip and he put it in his briefcase. Months later, he found it in there AFTER the MORRIS thing played out and it became a chance of him returning.

I just pulled some papers from November out of my briefcase THIS WEEK. Forgot they were in there. I do it ALL THE TIME.

If you had a missing paper, wouldn't you check your briefcase?

Would he though? Put yourself in his shoes. Wouldn't you want to play for the team that doesn't win? I would look at it from the standpoint that I could help the losing team get much better. Competitiveness drives you to choose the losing team.

There will be room on the post for PP if he decided to go to Florida. Who wants to play for the team that loses?

I don't agree. They should go back to the "no year rule". Mayo has zero interest in playing college basketball, yet he is forced to delay his chosen profession for a year. For what purpose?

I also read on Catspause that in addition to Patterson "chomping" with the Gators, the whole family was cheering for the Gators dunks and his mom was wearing a Florida jersey. Ouch.

I said, "he didn't have a copy of the fax for months, then suddenly it was there." That's 100% accurate.

The fax not only said Morris was going pro, but that he planned to maintain his eligibility. That's important the day you get it, VERY IMPORTANT the day you get it. The fax was MIA and convienently it showed up. I don't know Tubby personally, but he seems like a great guy. However, without knowing him I wouldn't put anything past him. College coaches (Tubby especially) face a lot of pressure to win and bending/breaking the rules happens all the time. EVEN at Kentucky.

The NBA got sick of being burned on High School players, but instead of just not drafting them they made a stupid rule.

Over on Catspause.com there is a rumor floating around that both Patterson and Lucas have decided on UK, and are waiting until the end of the season to commit. Apparently they want to make sure Tubby is still the coach.

I usually don't put much stock in these kind of rumors, however, it does validate some of the things I've been hearing recently so who knows...

I have known for a fact that UK was and is Patterson's first choice, and it has nothing to do with Tubby remaining the head coach.

I would say if he was sitting behind the Gator bench chomping yesterday you have no way of knowing what he thinks now. That is, unless you've talked to him in the last 24 hours.
