Because I think a few locals of the 16th have somehow come to the conclusion that Ashland is as good or better than CovCath.

I was at the Ashland / Cov Cath game last year in Covington. I have seen both student sections and Cov Cath's is the best by far. They keep you entertained the whole game. I was watching them instead of the game.

I will say that Ashland has a great student section and is getting better each game. While Ashland just started its this year Cov Cath has several years of experience under their belt.

:ylsuper: Things really got started around 1994, largely influenced by (I forget if this is the correct person) Zach Holbrook, who was at CovCath giving a riveting impression of the "Cha-Cha-Coolay" cheer.

Best in the State: CovCath. Best in the 16th: Ashland.

Can't argue with that, Ashlands student section is very energetic. If they come up with some original material they may one day be able to give CovCath a run for their money, but not anywhere close to their level as of right now.

Covington Catholic

I know there are some videos on each of these out there on the internet...can somebody send me a PM to give me the address or tell me where i can find them...??

As a Tomcat Id like to start by saying we have a very good student section and no one can question our loyalty and our pride. Just as I wouldnt question either of another school. But I like other posters dont really think that this thread is even necassary. Cov. Cath has a great student section, and is by far the best in the state.

They should be flattered that student sections across the state are thriving to be like them,

I've never seen Covington Catholics student section, and I tried to search it on YouTube to see if someone had posted a video, but no such luck.

I cant believe this is still a question. Cov Cath. ITS A SCIENTIFIC FACT BY NOW

I dont think this is even questionable! Cov Cath is no doubt the best. Everything Ashland does has been done already by Cov Cath.

A couple people in other threads have stated that they thought Ashland was as good or better than CovCath, I just havent seen them around in this thread yet.

So far thats CovCath 19, Ashland 0.

In the 1979/1980 season, CCH started the newspaper gag in response to star Dickie Beal of Holmes (and later UK) getting so much publicity in the papers. When the Holmes Bulldogs starting lineup was announced at the beginning of the game, the CovCath cheering section would raise newspapers in front of their faces as if they could care less about Beal and that they were preoccupied with reading the news, therefore paying the Bulldogs no attention, and then ripped newspapers would go flying when the Colonels starting lineup was announced. I don't know of this antic ever being used before that. The Colonel section, although not being called the 'CRAZIES' years ago, has always been a wild comical sarcastic tradition even long before 1979/1980. I would venture to say that the rowdiness began when they won the 9th Region about 5 years in a row in the late 60's and early 70's. :dancingpa:dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa:dancingpa
