Who's the better Student Section Cov Cath or Ashland?

Featured Replies

Ive seen first hand of what Cov Cath's student section can do by means of distracting players and entertaining other viewers. They must practice or something..

So now if we take half the number of students from last years enrollment from Ashland 922 div by 2 = 461 and subtract this years enrollment figures from CovCath 510 (-) 461 that equals a huge 49 boys difference. 49 boys give or take a couple, is a little less than twice the number that you said CovCath had over Ashland......[/color]

How big did you think CovCath was?

You lost me at 461. Could you repeat the question please?:creepy: :D

My oh my UKCATSFAN:sleep:.

Last years enrollment at Ashland Paul Blazer as reported by their own web site, was 922 students. Now if you consider that half of the student population is female, then there would be 461 girls, and 461 boys. Follow me so far? Since the comment that was made by a Ashland fan, was that CovCath had twice the number of males attending their school, and that was the reason why CovCath had a better student cheering section, then CovCath would have to have nearly 922 boys attending CovCath. Still following me? The Diocese of Covington report shows the enrollment of CovCath this years as 510 boys. Clearly that number is no where close to twice the number of boys that attend Ashland as the Ashland fan stated for the reason that CovCath had as a better student cheering section than Ashland.... Got it now?

Great explanation OldGuy, but what about the recruit from Texas? Can he really lead the rollercoaster as well as I've heard; and what about that almost supernatural yelling ability?? :D :D

He's outlawed from attending any concerts because when he sings along you cant here the band thats playing. I also once heard a story about his dad at a Kareokee club...the man ruined everyones hearing in the entire building and the surrounding blocks. Truly a legend....

His dad was one of the greatest of all times. Big hands and clapping are in his genes. This kid is fearless and really has a great understanding of what cheering is all about. A close friend tells me that he stays after school standing at half court screaming for hours on end to work on his game. I also heard he claps 100,000 times a day to keeps his hands in shape. UCLA is looking at him but his act scores may be an issue.
I heard Huggins might be trying to get this guy. He claims that his ACT scores shouldn't be a problem and that this will take care of itself, and the fact that he's one of the best cheerers in the nation should be all that matters. I was kind of hoping that we could keep him close to home and have him cheer for Tubby & Co.

I'll give Cov Cath credit for originality and great school spirit but as far as loudness, no. One school's cheering section was so loud and intimidating in their opening round victory that their entire student cheering section was mysteriously forced (by the state police) to move to the upper deck in Rupp Arena for their second round game against the defending state champions. It was Trinity. Sorry for going off the thread but I am still touchy and I think CovCath and Ashland fans would be too if it had happened to their students.

Come on, rltrace, an Ashlander has already used the usual public "trump card" of bringing up the dastardly "P Word" (Private). Now you make it even more intolerable for them by bringing up another "P" school. Aren't you ashamed?

It really has nothing to do with the loudness of the students it is their unique cheers and getting the fans involved. Also, I think Trinity has "several" more students than Cov Cath.

I gotta go with cov cath by far.If anybody went to state last year they got almost everybody doing the wave.

Cov Cath by far... And I am the cheering phenom and the people's champ. They call me...Melvin Porter. I was redshirted my freshman year for a vocal injury. After surgery and long days of intense rehab I have returned better and stronger than ever. As of now I have offers from UCLA, Texas, Kentucky, UNC, Florida A&M, and the Southeast Alabama Junior College for Animal Husbandry. I think I'm leaning toward SAJCAH but I will keep you all posted.

We know that isn't true. Kentucky doesn't recruit from within the state.
