The bluebirds travel to Georgetown to take on Scott County in what could be a great game.

In the past, Scott County has owned Highlands. However, last season Highlands beat Scott County to break the skid.

Junior gunslinger Charlie Ellison will miss the remainder of the season with a broken collarbone which will be a blow to the electric SC offense.

A lot of questions for Scott County coming in, Highlands has much less. Their squad is looking complete and ready for a run at the state title in 4A.

Who wins?

I do have an update on streaming…happy to say a Highlands student will be going to call the game tonight. Bluebirdsradio.com should have the game for 100% free tonight.

    Looks like there's a pay-to-play broadcast on Scott County's Hudl page: https://fan.hudl.com/usa/ky/georgetown/organization/6282/scott-county-high-school/team/16543/boys-varsity-football/schedule?dat

  • How bout that Highlands helmet logo! That right there would intimidate any team right.

I like Highlands pretty big in this game, the Bluebirds are good.

Ellison really opens up the wing-t as wide as you'll see that offense. Losing him is taking an FBS caliber quarterback off the board. It's a loss I don't think the Cards can overcome.

The version of Highlands that we've seen recently against CovCath and Elder could win big in Georgetown.

I think Emongo will break a few to keep it close for 3 quarters but I don’t see a way SC can hang without the throwing ability of Ellison.

Highlands 49

Scott County 21

Rarely do SC receivers ever have to make a contested catch. It’s the scheme that generates their 10 yard spacing as Dbacks are searching for who has the ball. Won’t take a gunslinger but someone adept at handling the offense. Ellison will be greatly missed and will make Highlands a three score winner.

Is there a livestream on this game?

Still no clarity on the QB situation for Friday night. I lean more towards Emongo starting at QB for now.

Trying to defend Emongo at QB would give me nightmares.

Birds take care of business Friday night. It’s a great matchup to close a well played season and tough schedule to be prepared for the battles coming in November and early December.

Birds will take care of business.

If that is how things shake out, it will be interesting to see how McKee approaches it. They have tons of plays they experiment with that don’t see game action so they’ll have a number of plays that they can turn to this week.

Most intrigued I’ve been for a non playoff/district game in a while!
