Trinity (6-1), coming off another very impressive 41-0 blowout of Cincinnati St. Xavier, is scheduled to begin District play this week as they host Ballard (1-5) on Friday at 7:30 pm in Marshall Stadium.

Will the game go on as scheduled? That will depend on a KHSAA review of the game ending brawl between Ballard and Fern Creek that occurred on Thursday night.

If the game is played as scheduled, it will likely not be much of a game. So far this season Trinity has shown one of its best teams in years and Ballard has showed the opposite. The Bruins offense has been abysmal in 2026, averaging 12 points per game with a high mark of 28 vs Fern Creek.

Stay tuned this week to find out if this game will be played as scheduled and if so, will Ballard face significant roster reductions based on KHSAA player suspensions.

Trinity could put the JV team out there and win. This will be a running clock before halftime if it's played.

Trinity is now ranked #28 in the Nation on HSratings.com

I hate to sound like a fair weather fan, but this won't be worth the price of admission. I'll likely watch from home as it will be a running clock to start Q2. Lots of youngins will see the field the next couple of weeks.

Trinity- 66

Ballard- 0

Good problem to have when so good don't even want to go to games.

Kind of...

I took my youngest son (11) last night to his first game just the 2 of us. He had a really good time and wants to go next week. I told him he'd definitely see a lot more scoring. He picked the seats, I hadn't sat in the stands in 20+ years.

Voted for Ballard by mistake.

Trinity 52-6.

My gut tells me this final will be:

Trinity 1, Ballard 0

Right, I am pretty sure @DearToday mentioned Ballard maybe holding T to one point this week.

Ballard could finish second in the district if they sit every one this week who is suspended. If they do that I can't see how they field a team Friday.

Trinity fans would be cheering for the lions against the baby gazelle. Don't see the point of it.

If Ballard decides to forfeit, is it possible/legal for Trinity to try and find someone else to play?

No. Two reasons. 1. 10 game regular season max. 2. Only District games are allowed by the KHSAA at this week of the season.

I'm waiting to buy tickets until I find if they'll play.
